I have this friend that just moved back to the states after 6 years and in that time i became saved. We talked while she was gone but lost contact she knew i was saved i witness to her of course right now she says she wants to be closer to god and wants to change her life but on the other hand she still goes out and party's and drinks . I know to have patience and the lord will change her on his time but my question is what could i do cause i feel extremely uncomfortable being around her its like we really don't have anything to talk about and when we do hang out she is always talking on her phone looking for places to go out.

I don't mind her doing that because that's her life but she also has two kids i don't see how she can just get up and go like that . She is only 22 with a 6 year old and a 8 month year old.

I just don't know how i can keep her as my best friend without making it seem to much it also doesn't help the fact the people she works with is enabling this behavior to.

prayers, scriptures, advice will be great right now. I'm just at a stand still

thank you god bless

A best friend shouldn't be an unsaved. It's okay to have them as friends, but not as your inner circle of friends.

My closest friends are all non-Christian. I prayed for them and found out just recently that one of them (a buddhist) is going to church on Sundays and Bible study on Fridays! She's still not a believer but it was so wonderful to hear that from her! I have another friend who is a Christian but is falling away. I prayed for him for weeks and it seemed like he wanted nothing to do with church or Christianity anymore. I invited him to my baptism and another get-together. I thought he wouldn't come. He said he'll think about it and he showed up! He also said he's coming to the church get-together.

My advice: pray. You're sincere. God will hear your prayers to help your friend.

Woooooooow. My best friend, of 15 years, was unsaved. Then one day when the timing was right I was there for her and she became a Christian. Dont tell other people that stuff, you never know how you impact other peoples lives- the people we care most about. We need to stop this "elite" behavior. Would you say the same thing for a family member? Would you abondon your, lets say mom or sister, as a close companion because she wasn't saved? The bible says not to be unequally yoked- but that should be for marriage and romantic relationships. Frankly, I dont have Christian friends (and not for lack of trying) because they're much less friendly.

I didn't say abandon them. I just said not to have them to be your best friend. In most cases you'll act like your unsaved friend rather than the other way around. Yes, I would. I didn't say to act like they have a disease but just not to spend all your time with it. I have mostly non-Christian friends, but my closest friends are Christian.

I dont hold others accountable for my sin so being around non Christians shouldn't be an excuse. My best friend was more Godly being a non Christian then most Christians I know. Being a Christian my whole life around my best friend was what convinced her I was different, and she wanted what I had which was Christ.

I agree it shouldn't be an excuse. I just think it's best for them not to be in your inner circle just a matter of opinion. :)

James 5:9,10 My brother, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover a multitude of sins.

1 Corinthians 15:33,34 Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God- I say this to your shame.

Galatians 5:19-21 says,

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." If an individual would be tempted by any of these things, then they should avoid the party. A Christian should not appear to condone drunkenness or carousing, or any of these other things.

jesus was a friend of sinners, but his connection to God was number one priority. know what your strengths and weaknesses are. If having this individual in your life and/or as a friend is harmful to you then stop it.
