Helloooo again.... I'm back - I know how much you guys love my thoughts! I have another serious proposition...

I am a Christian. I believe in everything in the Bible that I have come across EXCEPT the doctrine of Hell as we (most) perceive it. Take my commitment to Christ as a fact because I certainly don't want this to be an argument of my duty and or belief in Christianity. I want you to consider this and this only.

My question is: Do you TRULY believe in Hell.

-So we as Christian's TRULY believe in God and Jesus
-We TRULY believe the Bible is a fact (and the interpretations of others and meanings of words converted from Hebrew all the way to English - although I don't know why, but that's beside the fact.)
-We therefore TRULY believe in Hell from the teachings of the Bible.

But do you REALLY?

If you really believed in Hell, would you be:
Reading this post?
Chatting on Facebook?
Watching TV?
Going on vacation?
Going to work?
Reading anything at all except the Bible?
- Pretty much everything else you could be wasting your time on.

My point is: If you truly believed that all unbelievers, which we seemingly care so much about, you wouldn't be doing anything EXCEPT spreading the gospel and ultimately avoiding the HORRIFIC image of Hell. The majority of Christians claim that it is an everlasting torment in a real or equal in pain as pit of fire. Can you imagine? Has your hand ever been burned for even as little as a couple seconds in a fire? Hurts doesn't it. Imagine your whole body, for ever and ever, in a fire without any hopes to be released. Visualize this because this is what we as Christians all say we believe, right?

If we saw some old man walking on the side of the road, we would give him a ride.
If we had a friend hurt and forced to stay at the hospitable for 2 days, we would accompany them.
If we have had a loved one die, we will spend hours in seclusion mourning on their death.

But why is it that we spend so much time on useless time-wasters and humanely dedication to a person and need, but we hardly spend any time (in comparison) preventing to worst imaginable misery a human could endure?

If you TRULY believed this was a reality for many people, your basic compassion towards one another would force you to do NOTHING ELSE but breath and spread the truth of Christ.

I believe it is truly not the case that you believe in this doctrine that most of you stand by.

If it is the case that you truly believe this, we obviously atrociously lack the compassion towards one another in which the Bible teaches so much about.

OR... Deep down you know it couldn't be true because your actions could not display any less love and care, to be frank.

We seem to think that the very essence of believing in God/Jesus involves taking the Bible as stone cold fact.
God does not lie and is never wrong, - that is a fact in scripture - so this cannot be the cause. Finite human interpretation and language can, however, skew the truth. We put too much trust in other people's interpretations and the consistency language translations.

At least do some research on the subject and get back to me. I would like to hear your opinions.

I believe in everything the bible said. And yes I believe in hell, I know how horrifying its image is. The bible said, when our hands causes us to sin it is better to cut it off and enter the kingdom of God w/ one hand than go to hell with both. (Mark9:43) but it doesn't push me and motivates me to share God's word. I share His word because of His overflowing love to me. I say, you have a point, but let's encourage others to GO and share the GOSPEL because of LOVE not because of FEAR.

My opinion

I believe that if I was not saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, I would be separated from God when I die.

THAT is true HELL for me.

I had a dream. And in this dream I was put in a hole shaped like a long cylinder, about 4 feet wide 12 feet deep. Someone, who I could not see the face of, came and place the manhole cover over the top so that I was alone in the dark. No sound. No way to lay down or sit comfortably. No light. No nothing, except for my thoughts and my sin. And in that moment I knew that I was separated from God for all eternity and there was no way out. I screamed! And I kept screaming until my husband woke me up and held me until I stopped crying. It was by far, THEE worse dream I've ever had. It showed me what it would be like to be lost without God's saving grace.

IF it is so horrific AND you guys love God with all of your hearts, how can you sleep at night knowing that you could have attempted to save many unbelievers that day? Why not replace your time with searching for lost souls? It seems that the ordinary Christian does nothing (in comparison) with his/her time to actually do God's will. It puzzles me greatly.

The majority of Christian actions don't show this compassion (that we don't save unbelievers at all times) that should fall in line with our basic morals as humans AND our love for God. It is entirely contradictory to the statements you stand by. Deep down, the concept doesn't sit right with all of you; or we as Christians need a rain check to actually have some compassion towards one another. When you look at it objectively, it seems as though we are not doing anything about it because in the end we know we are saved and hell is not an option for us. This is selfish beyond bounds and certainly doesn't seem like avid Christian believers and followers of the Word would do this if they truly thought it was the complete truth. Your actions suggest that you believe God will have mercy on them in the end, at least to a small degree.

You are thinking in carnal terms.

We do not save unbelievers. That's God's work. We do the praying, the witnessing = the sowing of seeds, some water those seeds, etc. He imparts the faith to believe that He is who He says He is when the time is right according to His terms and plan.

God is BIG enough to bring everyone to salvation who will accept Him. I have no worries that someone will be left behind because we didn't go and speak with them. If we don't do it, God will make a way for them to know.

All glory for the lost coming to know Him will be given to God. We do what we can and He will do the rest. He will finish everything that He has begun. Even the breath to speak of Him to the lost and the knowledge of Him is given by God. There is nothing that we've done ourselves.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hevrews 12:2

We are to judge no one as to whether they are worthy of God. We might evaluate their actions which is something different. We can't see who is going to choose God until after they do so. So all who are to be saved are given the chance to hear of Him in His timing through His plan. God has many ways that we don't know about in getting His Word to them.

Christians are just saved people. Christians are not perfect people.

But neither are Christians doormats for anyone coming along who thinks to abuse or lecture us on who we are and how we should or could do things better. Hence, the mods banning trolls. (for which I say THANK YOU mods, for making this site a place of peace and one where we can share His Love without the harassment of the world on our necks)

Yes both Hell Fire, ---->Gehenna Fire,----> the 2nd Death and Hades( not hell) are REAL,

Hades a temporary abode for the wicked departed spirit that has been separated from the flesh/bone at physical death...

Gehenna Fire or 'hell fire'-----> will recieve the occupants of Hades and Hades itself after the Final Judgment

I believe in hell, but I refuse to believe in the common doctrine of hell that is believed by so many Christians today simply because they follow what their parents, friends, and preachers press on them. Look at it objectively and see if you reevaluate your opinion. If you still believe in your preexisting opinion, I completely respect that; however, it is good to have many opinions so that your Holy Spirit can then choose for you which one is best.

Read this and honestly put away existing beliefs - don't let your environment shape your beliefs!
It is honestly a great article and provides some solid evidence guided by God's Word.

Read all of it and comment your opinion - whether it be a rebuttal of the article or an agreement.

I would greatly appreciate it.
