Did you know you can literally defraud, and take advantage of a fellow sibling in the faith by being purposely sexual and provoking such desires/thoughts/actions in them?
1 Thessalonians 4
4 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given[a] us His Holy Spirit.
Each of us has a responsibility to exercise self-control in relation to sexual matters. But we also have another responsibility, and that is to conduct ourselves in such a way, that we don't provoke others in to sexual impurity/immorality. To do such is to literally defraud and take advantage of them.
God wants us to be sanctified. He wants us to have self-control, and flee sexual immorality.
God will avenge people who purposely try to defraud and take advantage of fellow siblings in the faith through actions that purposely are meant to provoke unGodly sexual desires.
because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.
Listen I'm not trying to make people feel paranoid about every action they take. Obviously we can't over think EVERY action we do, and walk in fear that it may provoke some ungodly desire in someone.
On the other hand, we're well aware of those who purposely/with intent, go out of their way to present themselves in such a way, that it provokes thoughts/desires/actions that are clearly not in keeping with what God wants.
Brothers/sisters in the Lord, don't take/post/whatever pictures of yourself that are intentionally meant to arouse feelings of sexual desire. Brothers/sisters in the Lord, if you see someone intentionally doing this, don't feed in to it. In fact, FLEE from it!
Again, this isn't meant to make people second guess every action they do. But it is meant to remind folks not to intentionally do stuff that you KNOW is going to provoke certain thoughts/actions/desires.
