Matt 6 v 6: But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

There is corporate prayer and private prayer.

Intimate private prayer is a privilege, shutting the door behind you with just you and God. No pretense, no mask, no excuses. God knows you better than you know yourself. When it is just ourselves and God do we bring the real "us" - warts and all.
We don't have to play down certain things or over emphasize certain things to make us acceptable to God, He knows us through and through.

If God knows our needs why pray at all?

It is because He does not impose Himself onto us, by asking we are indirectly saying "I need you and I trust you". Prayer is about putting faith in God. Prayer is about communicating with our best friend and acknowledging the value of that relationship.

Prayer is talking to the creator of the heavens and the earth! In turn we should not forget to listen to His reply, communication is a two way thing.

How sweet is your prayer time with God?
