(This blog continues a discussion about ways to draw near to God. This is the first blog in a series that focuses on prayer.)

"The LORD is near to all who call on him..." --Psalm 145:18

Of all ways to draw near to God, the most powerful is through prayer. Maybe you are really good about tuning into what's on your heart and lifting up a beautiful prayer to the Lord, but if you are like me then you might need some tools to know how and what to pray.

Here are a few tools you can use enliven your prayer life:

  • Devotionals
  • Thoughts / Impressions
  • Prayer Lists
  • Dreams
  • Bible

In future blogs, I will give more details about using the above methods in prayer. However, please remember prayer does not need to be anything fancy. Simply ask for what you want and thank Him for what you have like this...

Lord, I pray readers of this blog would draw near to You in prayer. I thank You that this is their desire. Thank You that You are pleased to meet us in this way, Father. In Christ's Name, Amen.
 
There´s a book "Knowing God" written by Henry Blackby and Claude V.King. I took it to re-read it.

We just read a message regarding call upon Thy name with a new believer family yesterday, its says that once we call on Jesus name , He will come to you, hence, we should not despise, ignore His precious name, may Lord gain our day with a little, simple prayers in the beginning of every morning.
