Are you in college? You can transfer into a conservatory or major in music if you're that into it, but you should really get a college degree. Singing is a great gift, and you can always sing as a hobby (church choir, with friends, etc.) but dropping out of school and attempting to form a career out of it is a gutsy move with a lot of risks. The least you can do is have a backup plan, which generally requires some sort of further education. Unfortunately a singing career needs a lot of other people's interest, you'd need a producer, a fan base, a way to travel, etc. Try talking to someone who's taken that track, and see what they think about an education, what skills you'll need, etc.
Lots of people want to be famous singers. I wanted to be a famous singer. Hardly anybody succeeds. It would be best if you not assume you are going to be a famous singer. You need to find a way to make a living so you can support yourself and your family.
