In life we are always going to make mistakes and fall short; however, what is important is how we handle the fall when it comes – we can choose to fall forward or we can allow ourselves to fall backwards. So, how do we fall forward? I would say it is when we are able to quickly put forth heartfelt repentance to the Lord and to deeply reach out the Lord in our time of failure. Then get right back into the fight where we left off from before the fall took place.

We shouldn’t dwell on sin by beating ourselves up continually for something that has already been forgiven, but instead focus on having the state of mind that no matter how many times we are knocked down, we should always bounce right back up and gravitate directly to the Lord’s arms. Let that be second nature to us because the Lord always has open arms and his grace is sufficient to covers a multitude of sins; let us not be too ashamed to reach out to the one that loves us more than any person possibly could.

Because here is the catch, if we sin we want to hide from God but all that does is cause us to feel even further from God - -this is a deception that will only further mature gaps between us and the Father. Satan loves to drive a wedge between us and God. That is why we should never allow any circumstance put us in a mental state where in we feel that we can’t even talk to God because we feel unclean. Logically, this is foolishness because Jesus died on the cross so that he could purify us from sin with his blood. So, if we turn our face away then we are denying the gift that Jesus died for, which is an insult and affront to God.

Let not our hearts be deceived and let us instead knock the dust from ourselves, wash our wounds, and press the offensive back towards the one that benefits most from us feeling weakened and walking in defeat. The fact is that satan tries to break the ones he can break, but for the ones he cannot do that to because of the “Job” protection being in place, he instead tries to hinder us in any way possible. “1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NKJV) Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.”

In reality, chances are that if you are facing continual hardships and/or it seems that weapons are forming against you all around you then it is likely that you are on the verge of breakthrough that satan is trying to suppress. If you feel you can’t take one more step just remember that step very well might be the last one you need to take before God steps in and takes control of the situation. Always remember “1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

God knows our limits better than we do, so we should just trust that the things that come against are only things that God has predetermined that we can overcome, subdue, and convert into glory for the kingdom of God, which is our true home. Remember, God gave His all for us and likewise we should do the same. We of course cannot compare, but everyday just pushing ourselves beyond our limits to increase the glorification of God.
