Jesus came and lived amongst us, and as far as I know, he didn't break a bruised reed.
God counts the hairs on our heads, and. not one sparrow falls without his knowing.
Living in this fallen world is not easy, nobody said it would be. If the oak tree can survive over 1000 years thats great.
Our life spans are only 120 years, it used to be humans lived much longer than that, if you believe the accounts of the ages of people before the flood.
If you've made it past 60 you are actually doing very well. 70 is actually (threescore and ten) is kind of God's ideal for humans. Its sad that some really don't have a chance to make it past even their first birthday. But that is the fallen world we live in.

Yes, but it doesn’t mean that He won’t destroy things, if necessary; if you recall, He cursed a fig tree, and it died.
Yes, Methuselah lived for almost 10 centuries. Who is to say about others not recorded? Yet God said My Spirit will not strive with man for so long so He shortened our days. There are people who lived about 120 yrs.
Yes, my mom will be a century this year. Very blessed, praise Him!

Oh yes I forgot about Jesus cursing the fig tree. It had no fruit. He preferred olive trees it seems .
No actually people weren't looking after the fig tree. Jesus said that he would dig it and dung it i.e look after it, maybe transplant it and fertilise it with manure, wait for a year, and then see if it bore fruit. If it didn't, he would cut it down.
Some trees can actually regrow from a stump even when they are cut down, though it will take a long time to reach the same size. Also you can graft trees onto others that have good rootstock. It does depend on how deep the roots grow.
Do you know why it seems impossible to get rid of dandelions? Not only are they prolific seeders, but they also have a very long taproot.

In my gardening job I looked after a retirement village that was built not too long ago, but the land had an old oak tree on it.
Instead of cutting it down, like a lot of developers would do, they just built around it.
The tree was amazing and even though in autumn the leaves would turn brown and fall, in spring they would come back again (that is what decidious trees do) and it did have lots of acorns and we were instructed to remove the acorn seedlings cos they didn't want a whole forest at the retirement village lol.
I wish the oldies at the retirement village could appreciate this tree but I didn't see many come out to enjoy its shade when we were working there. But I think for those bedridden, to look out on a tree would be better than looking out on to a road or other houses. Also it was home for birds.
