Hi guys,

our family has just recently moved cities, and as such we have been on the hunt for our new spiritual home. We visited a church this morning that we think may be it, but we'll go along for a couple more times before committing ourselves, and I just wondered what everyone looks for when they decide on their own spiritual homes.....that is, APART from biblical teachings (which is a given really!). I was impressed with the teaching this morning, and what it said was very biblical and balanced, so that's not the issue, but what are some of the other factors that people take into consideration, and how do people know when they've found the right place?

I'm a bit wary about posting anything on these boards, so if we could please be respectful when answering and NOT fight that would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think you'll know when you decide you want to keep going back there. I went to Hillsong London a couple of years ago and Ive wanted to go back ever since. I like everything about it, you queued up outside for about half an hour before the meeting seeing as its held in a West End theatre and some of the members of the Church took round drinks and sweets to you. The people seemed friendly, most of them were quite young, the worship were very good, the speaker were good. I dunno, I think you'll just know where to go in time judging on how you feel about it. Just pray that God'll show you to the right Church :)

I really enjoy the sense of belonging at my church. We do social events, group ministry projects, and even in the chruch service people are often given the chance to speak out. Also I like how accepting my church is. I don't feel criticized for what I wear or how I act like in some other churches I know of. But the main thing is, I really feel God's presence in my church, and that is why I love my church and chose it as my spiritual home. I think one can tell if they have found it but being active in your church I definitely believe helps.

So good luck on your search. ^_^

i was drifting for a few years.... couldnt stand my own wisdom any longer.......... i cried out to God........ he answered & led me to a church up the road from where i lived....... some people gave me their opinions about the church....... i trusted God & stayed...... after a while (a month or so) God spoke & said that the body was safe...... I started connecting with the body & joined bible study...... a year later....... the church has planted an extension church in the same area where i first was called to minister to.....I am now in training in leadership to minister in that area...... God is faithful to complete what he had started
