when hub and I were in grade-school, it was mandatory to recite (the pledge of allegiance and The Lord's Prayer),
and we are both glad of this, as it set certain standards in our minds of something good and positive...
Oh, but that can't be permitted today because it may insult those impressionable minds to turn from all things evil and negative. We can't make up their minds for them!

In my old hometown the schools there did away with the grading system in classwork and the placement system in sports. Kids can't fail in tests or homework today. A kid runs track, finishes last, and they are praised for finishing. No placement, first ,second, third.

Because those placements hurt the feelings of slower children. It isn't right to inspire children to want to accomplish something, or to excel in their talents. Be mediocre, be lazy, be indifferent to the scholastic nature of your education, be dumb, be uneducated, you'll still graduate! Because we don't want to hurt your feelings. And because if Socialists calling themselves social Democrats have anything to say about your future, you'll not have to be smart enough to get a job anyway.

They'll insure you have a home, a paycheck you don't earn, and all your bills paid just because you voted for them. Oh, can't read a ballot in order to vote for them? That's no problem. Eventually we'll install voice recorded balloting. All one has to do is say whom they want to vote for and it counts. :D Progress in a country where dumb is being championed and self respect belittled.

its because many childrens parents were on drugs when they had them and so their brains are much slower now so any accomplishment is a win.

I dont know WHY they were on drugs, but probably due. to the war perhaps.

pray that you are worthy that G-d will provide the funds :)
Would you be willing to clarify this? I got a scholarship back when I was 14 because my mother felt led that that's where I should go instead of a public high school and after the year of working I apparently didn't make whatever standard that they set (which was not related) to me but rather to my parents and this started a long process that eventually led to me getting my GED.

What do you consider "worthy"? Just strikes me the wrong way a little bit.

I'll admit to their being a little bit of bitterness at how things worked out and I really liked the school and being in a bubble, able to learn Old Testament survey at least...but nowadays I think the system looks "questionable".

It is a common fact that all over western society the revisionists are infiltrating education to produce a generation of revisionists. That is why homosexuals are infiltrating the kinder curriculum to produce children growing up to believe that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality so that by the time they are teenagers they will endorse homosexuals and homosexuality, and if they are homosexual themselves, they will be proud of the fact.

Anyone who suggests otherwise is a bigot and a homophobe, full of hate speech and has to be silenced. What some Christians do not realize is that the truth is never hate speech. It is speech that those who hate the truth cannot handle.

In Western society, Marxists have dropped their guns and adopted speech as the weapon of choice. Most battles today are Truth v lies. Use the right words and you can convince people that your lies are the truth and that the truth is lies.

The lying revisionists have infiltrated society and organisations and convinced people that their lies are the truth. A classic and widely accepted lie is that homosexuals are gay. When I used the word homosexuals to refer to homosexuals on one forum, I was told I was being offensive.

Evidence is very clear that one thing homosexuals are not and that is gay. But, hey, who cares if it is the truth or lies. Homosexuals believe it is true so it must be right.

The world is determined to replace the ways of God with their ways. People must decide what they want their children to be exposed to. They can allow the world to indoctrinate them, or they can choose to teach them the ways of God. Home School, Christian School.

People say that not all can afford to do this, and that may well be true. But, I believe, if the Congregation gets involved and actually works to teach the children as they should be taught, it can happen for all children. The Congregation has to make the education of their children THE PRIORITY which comes before all other financial expenditures. New building, furniture, equipment, parking lot, whatever.

Even poor Congregations have one or more elderly Members who are usually retired that can serve to Home School the children in the Church building. I just believe IF a Congregation is dedicated to teaching children, God will make a way for them to do so.

Thank you for the information.
So sad but true. Whilst churches meeting on Sundays and sing Kumbaya to make them feel good, the things that they should be doing to combat Satan are falling by the wayside. Both my wife and I are retired teachers and could be used to teach children in a church school. Both of us are certified as teachers so the children would get the same education as in secular school minues all the rubbish they teach.

Two or three churches could band together and provide an education for their children, sharing the teachers available. There are plenty of home school curriculums out there produced by Christian organizations, so that is not a problem. Being retired I do not need to be paid $100,000 a year. $14,400 max is all I need to supplement my pension. If all retired teachers worked on that basis, home/church schooling is a very viable alternative.

Another way of looking at it is to see ourselves as missionaries and get paid according to whatever income comes in. Time to rethink the issue and get where the need is. If you only teach that which is wholesome and essential to children it means that your need for teachers is cut by 50%.
