Flag contour

I've noticed how difficult is it to see some of the flags, either chat room or the forums here. An example can be used with Poland's flag above my avatar, it's really hard to see the upper part of the flag, and people often question me what flag that is, confusing it with other countries lol.

So my suggestion would be to add a contour to the flags, having it more visible. Something like this:

Forum's default flag
Poland.jpg

With contour
Poland2.jpg

It's just a small suggestion, sometimes my eyes hurt by looking at so much white. :)

Do like. Most flags you can make out, but you have a point about Poland's flag there.

+1 for the suggestion.
 
I don't like the idea, a black contour around my flag (and around most flags for that matter) makes it look ugly.

Hmm... being able to see the flag, or if a border makes it 'look ugly'. I think being able to see it trumps a subjective concept as how bad it makes it look. Especially since most people only pay attention to them when they actually want to look at it.
 
... and if they want to look at it's probably clear to most people that shyforhim's flag IS indeed the polish flag, even without the black contour (if they know that is the polish one in the first place). Agreed, whether something's ugly or not is a matter of taste, but my flag for instance doesn't have a black contour around it. I wouldn't want my flag to look like we're in mourning or something. Furthermore the UGLY black contour would only be useful for flags where one of its stripes touches the white background, it isn't needed for the majority of flags.
 
Well, you're always right, and your subjective opinions are the only ones that matter anyways. Guess that solves that.
