The main thing is that we are all innately selfish, but in a marriage covenant between two christians God commands us to be servants to one another and that includes what goes on in the bedroom. Im sure Adam and Eve had sex before the fall, so if there was no sin then yes they would have been perfectly serving each other. What happened was sin came into the world. What we shouldn't do is go into Christian marriage with a list of what WE want and need, and those who do will inevitably be disappointed.

An important thing to note is making sure you're not getting desires and coveting certain methods or whatever from non christian sources, the obvious one being porn. But women I would also say to not read those trashy magazines you see at the grocery store or softcore/hardcore romance novels, that make you beleive that your husband HAS to pursue the G spot or make YOU feel fantastic in bed or else they are bad. It preaches self serving selfishness. Personally I would call it false doctrine. And like you guys I have little patience with Christians or anyone else who think biblical sex shouldn't be talked about - it should! Sex is in the bible, and Paul says that scripture is all God breathed and profitable for learning, teaching and rebuking.

This is so perfectly said. I agree, 100%!
Some of us are so conditioned by what the world has spit at us, we are not even aware when it creeps into our marriage beds. Good thoughts.

I said MARRIED EYES! Jokes....anyone can comment here. ;)

This may get a little racy, so please use your discretion okay? K.

Here goes......
So I am fully aware that husbands and wives have very different needs in the department of love making/sex.....so do you think this was so, from the beginning?
I somehow imagine that Adam and Eve had it pretty Bang on, (no pun intended)
Don't you think God made them to experience love making absolutely perfected? So what happened along the lines?
Why is it that Men and women differ so much now, as far as our "needs" go, where sex is concerned?
Why do so many women go feeling unfufilled sexually?
Why do so many men feel they don't "get it" enough?
At the end of the day, were all still in love, but man....do we have different thoughts on this topic?
S what happened to sex? I just think God had something different in mind when he created it.
What do you say?
I think what happened is that sex left the bedroom. I mean modern man has turned sex into a fascination, a hot topic. Its in every movie, every storybook, on tv, in magazines, in music, etc... and the prevalence of secular society's easy access to birth control, along with the downfall of abstinence have all contributed to sex becoming more of a sport than an ultimate expression of love between a husband and wife.

...or not.

So hold on, that brings about a thought,
Do you think God is okay with birth control entering the marriage bed?
I have to admit, I got happy, and sex for us is much more enjoyable, now that there can't be any pregnancy scares. Is that selfish?

Well, i think the forms of birth control that prevent pregnancy BEFORE an egg is fertilized are ok (in a marriaige, of course). Things like the morning after pill are iffy because if you don't take the morning after pill soon enough after sex, the egg will have already been fertilized and on its way down to the uterus where it cannot implant itself due to the drug, and is expelled.

Well those certainly prevent egg fertilization, so I think its ok. And if anyone wants to pick a bone about it being self-mutilation, just remember what Jesus said..if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off.

Sexuality has always been present. Erotic statues, paintings, stories... the modern day technology and a new openess to sexuality has made it more widely spread... but it is nothing new.

The most important thing for young people I think is to be informed about sex. They will find out one way or another. Internet is right there... but sadly the first thing you encounter is probably porn. So they need to have information about what sex really is, what is happening in the body and so on.

Most married women in America take birth control pills because they don't to have 12 kids in their family. Birth control pills are a form of estrogen and progestin hormonal contraception that can dramatically affect sexual drive and satisfation, sometimes permanently depending on how long it's been used. I don't know why this isn't more well known. A lot of people think girls are most sexually active in their teen years, when in reality women are made to peak in sexual desire at the age of 30. Yeah. 30. For guys, they do actually peak at 18, but since they don't take pills that alter their hormones, they remain horney even past their peak.

Bless29, I'm saying this with the utmost respect.
Please read my original post and then educate me on how this topic sounds like the world. Which aspect of it do you recieve this judgement?
I do admit there are a couple comments on here that I too found objectional, but how is th original post worldly?

If you think this post sounds worldly, perhaps you haven't come accross this in your Bible yet? 1 Corinthians 7. Espesially verse 9 which gives the reason for marriage "If, however, they cannot maintain self-control, by all means let them marry; for marriage is better than the fever of passion."(Weymouth New Testament)

Yes, God did make us this different. We are complementary for the very reason that when we join together under God one is formed. Mathematically speaking, if you put two of the same things together then you get two, not one. But we are a puzzle, I go out where he goes in. That was not meant as innuendo. What I am strong in as a woman, he is weak. Woman is receptive. Man is responsive. We both need to be both. Im speaking in generalities obviously, but it's true. 1/2 + 1/2 = 1
