To forgive others for their wrong doings does not mean that it's a pass for their behavior towards you. It's setting a prisoner free from it all. That prisoner was you.
The people who have done wrong to you no matter the cost will one day have to own up to their mistakes if they refuse to do so for themselves. Do not make their problems become yours by having it continually bother you or want revenge for those people. It's only going to damage you the most. Also remember to own up to your own wrong doings because it can also cost you. When we finally realize or have an idea where our shortcomings lie at least, we can choose to be humble and have the humility to admit to them and fix them at our own will. Only then is when we become better people - and that will also reflect on how you see other people.
For me, I had to learn the hard way. It's yet to even be in progress but I really do hope that others don't take the same route and choose to not forgive no matter how much these things hurt. It's only going to cost yourself.
