Someone gave me these verses this morning and I thought I would share them - this is where I plan to stand from here on out until God decides otherwise.

"I want you to live as free of complications as possible. When you're unmarried, you're free to concentrate on simply pleasing the Master. Marriage involves you in all the nuts and bolts of domestic life and in wanting to please your spouse, leading to so many more demands on your attention. The time and energy that married people spend on caring for and nurturing each other, the unmarried can spend in becoming whole and holy instruments of God. I'm trying to be helpful and make it as easy as possible for you, not make things harder. All I want is for you to be able to develop a way of life in which you can spend plenty of time together with the Master without a lot of distractions."

chcSURVIVOR, yes, Eugene Peterson's layman translation of the bible (along with i think having a kjv or my fave versión, nasb) is excellently said, helping the bible-challenged folk understand the Word. :)

Great words, we are able, as singles to serve God more because time not devoted to wife or husband. These verses too speaks loads to me, I think, of the importance of understanding that we, as singles, can be blessed all the more by serving Him more in the platitudes of our singleness

Alzó, I see this verse saying that UNTIL you are Lord-led to actually take VOWS at the altar that we are to concentrate MUCH more on God and not our bf/gf , or, fiance, or bfg (best friend's girl :D)

Yeah, yee-uh, i was being silly with that last one, that is, unless the Lord diplomatically reveals that you need to let your best friend know you like the same girl, or, guy, and, don't EVER ruin a 'best friend ' friendship by not being open and explaining to friend that you are doing what the Lord is leading. But, back to reality, the Lord leads, and, we should follow Him wherever He takes us as singles, which could be, without any other 'true' commitment stopping us, to be sent 'to the ends of the Earth,' as the last verses of gospel books (matt., mark, luke, john) state. And, just be careful when 'there' ^ , that you don't fall off....

I mean, really now, if some man on a ledge can stay up there for however long he is in that movie then you can keep your balance at either end of the Earth. Christopher Columbus speaking to you now, or course :D
