Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down, shaken, and running over (in over flow, in abundance) Luke 6:38 this was my paraphrased version.

Here's what NIV says (New International Version) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38.

This above verse is a promise to us, but a principle that God follows. He does not change this for anyone, but keeps it the same. You have heard countless times, For God cannot lie, let every man be called a liar - Romans 3:4 also it says this in Numbers 23:19 - God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

So if God has given us his promise that HE will NOT be out given, you can rely on that promise always - ALWAYS!

Can you out give God? God gives you the power to get up from bed daily and earn your daily bread. Your next breath is not guaranteed, so do not think for one moment that what you accomplish daily is by your own strength - but rather, it is through his grace and extended mercy toward us. For if God can take care of the sparrow, how much more will he take care of our needs! God's promise stood true 2000 years ago.

The little boy on the side of the mountain that gave his small lunch a few loaves of bread (4 or 5) and a few fish (2 or 3) did not / was not aware of this promise. Yet even through a little boy God operated the same. He DOES NOT lie. The few loaves and fish fed 4,000 men and more - women and children. Some scholars say the crowd may have been about 10,000 plus. And Jesus asked them to collect the surplus and not waste it. (Probably it was taken to the temple gate to feed the poor).

Then realize this - that when you give you are expanding on God's divine promise - his nature to give back. You are tapping into that powerful force of his Eternal promise. In return God will return blessings in many forms - it can be giving you a raise or a promotion, better health, safety for your family from unseen circumstances that could have left you grieving, favor in the market place or place of business, helping you meet the right people, open doors of favor in your life, shut doors to disaster and keep you safe, the returns are endless. No bank on earth can match God's interest rates!

Jokes apart, :) try this out. Slowly start trusting God more and more. Try giving away $10 to help a poor person or family who are homeless. Next try giving away $20 or $50 or $100. It may hurt you to part with that $100 bill, but know this that you are tapping into God's power of giving, no one can match His Giving power. Give with a cheerful heart and with obedience. As you leave, pray a silent blessing over that family you just gave money to, asking God to bless them mightily. And also remember to thank God for allowing you the Special honor to bless that family. If God had not blessed you more than them, how could you have been a source of blessing to them? Right?

Expand your trust in God and his power. Rely on his promises! He is always faithful to do what he has promised. Amen!
