Giving Our Time Wisely

Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.
When Christmas season comes what goes into your mind? Definitely the spirit of “Giving”. At sa mga panahong ito some ninong and ninang nagtatago na sa mga inaanak kasi nga ang mga inaanak ay ready na to ask their gifts from them. And another one sabi sa isang kanta give love on Christmas Day kaya yun iba is looking for relationship with the opposite sex literal na ina-apply ,kasi sabi nga nila this is the season of “SMP”(Samahang ng mga Malalamig ang Pasko) . May nabasa ako sa isang FB Comments ng Family Matters sa 702 DZAS ,she gives another definition for SMP:

Liza Garcia: Christmas ngayon! Haha hindi valentines! Kelan pa nagkaron ng mababaw na meaning ang Christmas? ) Christmas is NEVER about being with a mate or something! It’s always about CHRIST, GIVING-SHARING YOUR BLESSINGS, AND SPENDING FULL QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY.

Sino ba ang unang nag-expressed ng true giving syempre si Lord matatagpuan natin yan sa John 3:16.

So ibig sabihin giving love is giving time.
VCA Youth Camp Topic- Marks of Maturity Says” Time is Gods’ gift to us time is a stewardship, a divine trust, it cannot be bought or borrowed. Wasting time is wasting life.
A day is consist of time right?
How should we give our time wisely in our daily lives?
Ephesians 5:16 (NLT) Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

Give time for the Lord

• Devotion/Quiet Time – Giving our time to God makes us closer to Him. Through reading His word it gives direction in our life.

Examples: Jesus -Mark 1:35
-Daniel 6:10 – But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

• Prayer- As his/her sons/daughters this our way of communication to God.

-Psalm 32:6 (NASB)6 Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [a]in a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17(NLT) Never stop praying.

Give time to invest for eternity

• Share the gospel – Proclaim the word of God to those people that needs the Lord.

-Mark 16:15-16 (NLT) 15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.

• Godly service – Get yourself involve in the church ministries, use your skills and talents/gifts for His glory.

-1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV) 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Give time to meet new people

• Befriend your neighbors- Get involve in your community/schools to know new faces go to campuses bible studies and you can invite them to church.

-Colossians 4:5 (ESV) Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.
*Best example of it is Jesus …He gave His time to outsiders/unbelievers by having Feeding Ministry(5000 people),Healing Ministry,Visitation Ministry,Evangelism….

• Meet new believers -If there is newbies in the church approach them encourage them help them to grow in Christ,have a house visitation for the first timers.

-Galatians 6:10 (NIV) 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.



God give us a chance to use our time wisely Revelation 2:21 (NIV) I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.

-1 Corinthians 7:29-31 (NLT) But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters: The time that remains is very short. So from now on, those with wives should not focus only on their marriage. 30 Those who weep or who rejoice or who buy things should not be absorbed by their weeping or their joy or their possessions. 31 Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

Pray that God will give you wisdom to use time wisely and only for the issues that matter for the eternity. – Marks of Maturity

Giving is not only during Christmas season, it is not only by giving material things. Make sure you give your gift of time to your loved ones/in God’s kingdom. Your presence is much more appreciated than all the material things use it wisely.—Ate Conz
