Gen 15:
Vrs 4-5, The Lord makes Abram a covenant promise. Vs 6, Abram believes the Lord & the Lord credits Abram' FAITH as righteousness.
Gal 3:
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
(MY NOTE: The curse of the law, we have been redeemed from are: The penalties levied for breaking it)
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
(MY NOTE: Gentiles receive the covenant promise blessing made to Abraham. The Holy Spirit thru faith)
17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
(MY NOTE: This future covenant promise is made 430 yrs before the Mosaic LAW covenant & the Mosaic LAW covenant doesn't annual Abram's FAITH covenant promise)

Vs 12, Abram is sleeping
Vs 17, The Lord Himself/alone passes through the pieces
Vs 18, That day Lord make's a covenant with Abram.
This covenant was 100% the Lord's work. Based on Abram's faith that God was able to keep/do it. Gen 22:16 (A) By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD.
Eph 2:
7-10 Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world & the next. To shower grace & kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving us from sin payment/wage, is all his idea & all his work.
All we need do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! Accessed thru faith Rom (5:1-2)
We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging (Eph 2:9) that we’d done the whole thing! We can't save ourselves, it's all done & received by grace thru faith (Eph 2:8)
He creates each of us by/thru Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do (Eph 2:10).

The NT covenant that Jesus paid for & mediates [Heb 12:24]. Like the Abraham (Gen 15) covenant promise is based on the unconditional promise & work of the Lord Jesus.
Eph 2:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(MY NOTE: Boasting makes this about you. Robbing the Lord of His do praise & honor. Here's what God thinks about you self righteous works [Isaiah 64:6]
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The apostle Paul wrote this as well:
Rom 8:
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Tim 1:14 The Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you
(MY NOTE: The Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Is God's deposit & guards us until the day of redemption)
2 Cor 5:5 God, who also hath given unto us the "earnest" of the Spirit
(MY NOTE: God's Holy Spirit dwelling within us is the earnest. Earnest translated from the Greek word: arrabon. Also means a pledge/or promise)
2 Cor 1:22 Who hath also "sealed us" & "given the earnest" of the Holy Spirit in our hearts
(MY NOTE: God has placed His Holy Spirit in the believers heart. As a pledge/promise & a SEAL until the soon coming day of our redemption)
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(MY NOTE: You heard about Christ's finished sin redemptive payment & resurrection. When you believed/trusted, Christ sealed/baptized you with His Holy Spirit).
Eph1:14 Which is the "earnest" of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
(MY NOTE: The Holy Spirit by which Christ baptizes/seals & indwells us. Is the earnest = a down payment, a pledge, a promise, a guarantee)
Eph 4:30 grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are "sealed" unto the day of redemption
(MY NOTE: Believers are SEALED with God's Holy Spirit. It's a pledge, promise, guard & guarantee that Christ will come for us)
Jn 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
