Fantastic thread, nathan that is a great list :) I really enjoy the chapters of job. The faith he had and his story is just a wonderful example of how we should thank god for everything, the good times and the bad times.

One of my favorite sections:

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus through out all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
(Joh 11:25)

Just think, RESURRECTION and LIFE is found in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Here is another.

2 Timothy 2:15

(KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

It helps to read them Christocentrically...
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. (John 5:39-40/KJV)
Here is another.

2 Timothy 2:15

(KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Here are some good ones from the book of John...

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"

John 10:11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep"

John 14:6: "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me"

John 3:3: "Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"

I think all of Romans 3 has some important points, but it's quite heavy.

For more lightweight, everyday stuff:

Job 12: 7-10
But ask the animals, and they will teach you,

or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,

or let the fish of the sea inform you.

Which of all these does not know

that the hand of the Lord has done this?

In his hand is the life of every creature

and the breath of all mankind.

My favorite verse right now is 1 Cor. 13:1-3 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

So I'd say that's a good one :)
