Halloween Is Satan Worship

Before I became a Christian, I was fascinated with the occult. I loved to
watch horror movies. I read novels about witchcraft, or satanic rituals.
I was ignorant to the fact all this went against God. I knew there is a
God, and I feared His wrath. Not enough to NOT participate in ouija board
and the occult fascination. I was fascinated with the paranormal. Ghost,
and listening to people like Jeanne Dixon and Edgar Caycee. I did not know
all this was wrong.

What did it take to make me see how wrong it is ? A tract or booklet
called, "Can a Christian be Possessed." So that being said, until we warn
others who find all this paranormal and occult fascination is a sin against
God, they can't be free ( unless God convicts them quietly .) It really
takes more faith to believe in satan and the paranormal, than it does God.
Jesus makes it so easy to live. Satan demands our soul.

I totally believe we should give out 'spiritual tract' if you are going to
entertain children on Halloween. They may not read it, but parent might,
and see truth as God would have it be seen. He loves, He is love.
The enemy of our Savior was defeated at the Cross through the Blood
of Jesus. Satan hates the Blood of Jesus. Remember in the day you
take that last breath, you are either going to be with satan or Jesus Christ.
It is your choice. I am sure Christ will be the one you will choose.
There is a Heaven to gain, and hell to shun. ~ God bless all and stay covered
in the Blood of Jesus and keep Gods Word in your heart, soul and mind always.

WalMart already has their Christmas out, including a black Christmas tree. Saw it yesterday while I was Christmas shopping. :D

Really, a black tree ? Wow, what will Christians do with that one ?

i like it its more for those fancy modern art deco houses though. The green would just throw off the color in those rooms.
 
I loved Hallowe'en as a child. My mom made fun things like clown and cat costumes. I got bags of candy. It was harmless, no poisoned candy or razor blades hidden in apples.

When I became a Christian, I gave up the holiday. I do see it as representing evil. I know before I got saved, it was one of the BIG holidays when I played in bars, no matter what day of the week it landed on. If it was on a Friday or Saturday, the management was raking in the dough. So it did contribute in my mind to partying and drinking!

So no more fun costumes and explaining to 4 children why they didn't get candy or get to have fun and had to be excused from Hallowe'en activities at school. I don't regret that. But I did eventually work out a system of buying bags of candy and throwing them at my kids and then they stopped complaining.

It really is all about the candy!!

I do not judge people who choose to celebrate. And I do give out candy now, that my children are grown. Except last year it was so cold and snowy, we had no kids. In fact, most people I know had no children in cute costumes.

In the end, it is our relationship with Jesus that saves, not whether we choose to have fun with a special occasion or boycott it completely.
 
What once starts out in innocence and cute, has become
a thing of ugliness and the more blood, guts and gore at
a Halloween party, the more like it.

is full of satanic ugliness.
For children who are innocent in this, I certainly don't
blame them.
As a child I went a couple times and hated it. I felt like
it was begging. Yes, I let my children go. I hate that today,
but it is too late, they are grown up. What will be will be.
To each his own and all that jazz.

I understand that halloween could become a gateway drug to the occult and satan, but so could a lot of benign activities if you are not grounded in the Lord, and are opening yourself up to the occult. If you believe it is sin then I would say it IS sin to you. I think a blanket statement that all halloween activities that others engage in is sinful is wrong and un-Biblical.

As for the History of Halloween:

In the Irish Celtic mythology, the Irish fought the Tuatha de Dannan (Children of the Mother or the Fae) to a stalemate. Finally, the King of the Fae agreed to split Ireland in half, the Irish would take the surface and the Fae would go underground. However, the treaty stipulated that on the eve of the New Year, the Fae would be allowed to walk the surface and do as they wished (collect herbs and components for their magic or dance and make merry in the moonlight), but should any human wish to come with them, the Fae would take them. Therefore, on New Year's Eve (October 31st), the Irish would hold parties in doors, so as to not go outside and be taken to the Realm of Fae. If a person was going to walk or needed to go outside that night, they would wear masks, so the Fae would think them as kin and not men. Any human who used the magic of Fae was put to death, as a sign of being a traitor to the King and an oathbreaker of the treaty that held the peace. Only the Druids could communicate with the Fae, because the Druids served the gods, and the Fae were the children of the Mother (a goddess).

This is the pagan history of Halloween. There are no true Druids left, for much of their mythos is lost and only some of their teachings survived, because Saint Patrick sought to preserve some of the culture for historians. Those who call themselves Wiccans or Druids cannot follow the old pagan ways, because they are lost. Most of them don't even know the history and make it up as they go along. The pagan beliefs were falsehoods, an interesting read, but falsehoods. Some of the old superstitions still exist (such as not stepping into a circle of mushrooms), but the modern celebration of Halloween has only two similarities to the ancient beliefs: wearing costumes and some believe spirits come out. That's it.

All Hallow's Eve (or Hallowe'en meaning Hallow's Evening) is the Roman Catholic name because November 1st is All Hallows or All Saints Day, the day they go to Mass and pray for those who have passed on and gone to Christ. Thats where the name Halloween comes from, and it was believed by some that the night before the spirits of those who would go to Heaven would spend time with their families before going to see Christ. The Church denounced the belief, but it stuck into the minds of children and the laity. There that is the History of Halloween.

I understand Haloween, but Christmas too? If you look at why the early Christians used the original Pagan holiday, it makes perfect sense, and could be classified as one of the first and largest Evangelical attempts - they took a pre-existing holiday and made it their own, and as a result have had a profound impact on many non-Christians. I have seen in the children's ministry I do many young children come to know god and even become Christians due to questioning what Christmas was really about, and after understanding why the Christians took the holiday, seem to be even more hooked (poor phrasing, sorry) than they already were.

So in some sense, though we should not celibrate the Pagan holidays, I feel there is nothing wrong with celebrating something that needs celebrating (let's face it, it is the birth of our saviour!), and I personally am inspired by the creativity of the early church to usurp a Pagan holiday and turn it into what we see today. Admittedly, the consumerism of the late 20th century has changed it very much from what had been made, but it still has an impact on non-Christians today.
 
My husband and I have given up all of the holidays, for various reasons.Christmas, Easter, and Halloween are pagan holidays, and even though the christians tried to make Christmas and Easter about God they can't fully do that.
2 Corinthians 6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?


As for participating:
Ephesians 5:11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Because we do need to celebrate Christ and what the Mighty God has done for us, we (my husband and I) have made a list of new holidays to worship God and share with others His great goodness and severity. Keeping in mind that we as Christians should do that every minute of everyday.
