This thread is to announce the celebration of the rising of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, we celebrate Easter at a different time than the Western Churches do. Read about that here: Easter—A Tale of Two Easters — FactMonster.com. We call Easter "Pascha", that is, the Passover of the Lord. After a arduous 40 day Great Lent fasting period (abstention from meat and eggs), we are ready to meet our Lord with our oil lamps burning.
We have a service which starts at 10 o'clock pm and goes well after midnight. After the service, we will break the fast with a great Pascha meal.

In the Eastern Orthodox Church at the Sunday night Pascha service, a salutation is shouted by the priest in church. It goes like this, "Christ is Risen!", the congregation then shouts in return "Indeed He is Risen!".
This is also said to one another after the church service during the Paschal season.

So, here it is.

CHRIST IS RISEN!
