Having escaped!

2Peter 1:4 through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

How do you partake in the divine nature of God? Is there some far out mystery we must figure out first to tap into His divine nature?
The scripture is clear; we are to escape the sin and corruption that is in the world through a lustful heart. (Our free will choice to obey or disobey God)
Having escaped means we have departed from the sin and corruption, thus canceling out any substitution theory, or imputation theory, where Christ did it all for us, se all is done and we just obey because it’s the right thing to do(which it is)but then has no bearing on our final salvation.
This escaping takes place in initial repentance, 2 Cor 7-10-11, thus purging and purifying the heart, which leads to real godly sorrow(a season)and escaping all the corruption and lust that leads to death.
The word escape (denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal) means it is a done deal, and something that does not occurs in the future, as some allude to who believe in imputation.
So if you have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust, such as the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, then you are no longer under the bondage's of sin, and you are being a doer of the word of God, not in your own strength, but in His mighty power, to overcome sin, temptation and the devil!
Jesus didn't obey for you, or take your place or your wrath, BUT He did far exceedingly more that we can ever fathom!
His great power and love is more than enough to set mankind from the bondage's of sin, and to walk an obedient life crucified with Him in reality and not to wink at sin and disobedience since He supposedly took your place and did it all for you.
Joh 8:36 Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Jesus paid a high price for our freedom, let us all take responsibility for our reasonable act of service to Him, as we offer up our bodies as a living sacrifice, conforming not to the ways of the world, and being diligent to show ourselves approved to Him, in all we do!
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.
Either you have escaped of have not escaped, it is that simple! Jesus didn't escape for you, He is asking you to do it, through repentance and faith proven by deeds! And crucifying your flesh with Him once and for all! Galatians 2-20.
Act 20:21 testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance is important in escaping the corruption of the world and the flesh, and Jesus commands His creation to repent or perish, Luke 13-3, go and sin no more, John 8-11, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand, Matt 4-17!
This now brings the whole gospel back into reality, minus the added fables of the reformed teachers, who make godliness, holiness, and separation from the world an option because IF Jesus did it all, and we are saved IN our sins, then He also obeyed for us, took our place and any and all obedience from the heart is lost and made into a work that cannot be done because God has given a burden to much to bear!
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.
1Jn 5:4 For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.(obedience)
This is the lie, a great and deceptive lie, please be diligent to seek truth at all cost, and get back to the simplicity that is IN Christ which is Christ crucified, the flesh put to death in repentance, followed by an obedient working faith in love, leading to an enduring and pure heart hungry and thirsty for righteousness!
Knowing that the double minded will not inherit the kingdom of God!
Jas 4:7 Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, double-minded ones.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness.
Purify your heart, (repentance)Jesus won't do it for you, BUT He will certainly help you keep it pure after you are saved. And will give you all the power and strength necessary to resist the devil, and keep yourselves unspotted from the world.
