Hope is something we can practice that is a blessing. Right now I am hopeing for a new car. I am hopeing for the Lord's return. I am hopeing to have a better marriage (not a new one).
We can hope for something because we believe we might get it.
Hope is like setting a goal or desiring an outcome.
Hope I get to go to heaven soon.
Hope I get to be with the Lord soon.
Hope my friends and family go to Heaven.
Hope is encouraging.
If we have hope we can acheive more.
Pick something to hope for and you will most likely do what it takes to get it.

Romans 8:24-25
(24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
(25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

I think that we need to be careful of what we hope, putting God as the first thing in our lives, putting our goals under the obedience of his words.
I dont think is bad to want a car or a house or a better marriage but i think is very important to put our hope in God and not in the things of the world and to analyze what is the purpose that we have for wanting those things.

James 4:3 "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."
