I'm recently divorced and it was ugly....... I always felt as if God had put me in the path of this man though.... and I don't want to sound ridiculous but I once felt that I was being told that he was my project. I could persuade and encourage him to get himself right with the Lord and return to church. I know it sounds ridiculous and even now that we are divorced I still feel a strong tie to him. How will I know what I'm supposed to do?

I'm having a hard time even thinking about tomorrow..... I can't make plans or anything like that. It's hard to put one foot in front of the other (so to speak)....

Sorry to hear what you're going through. Can I recommend DivorceCare.org. If you visit their website you can ask to receive emails that will help you during this difficult time

You need to pray. God will give you the answers. It may possibly be difficult to deal with your situation. But sometimes, that's just how it is. Let God lead you, and God bless you.

I struggled with a similar issue after my 5 year relationship ended. I had prayed up front a lot and knew without a doubt that God wanted me with that girl. I loved her incredibly deeply, but then she left. For years afterwards I struggled with the idea of "what did I do wrong? what did I miss? was God lying to me? did I misunderstand God?". So many questions and so much doubt. In the end I realized how little I truly understand about God's intentions. Maybe in those 5 years a seed was planted who's roots would grow deep before the tree would peek out from the dirt. Maybe those years gave the person just enough hope to get through that one struggle that may have ended their life otherwise. Or in my ex's case, perhaps it started her on the path that led to one of her two beautiful children being a warrior for God. Maybe not, but in the end, I have no idea what God sees. I sure would love to know why, but in the end the why is almost always trivial. God is doing something and it is good.

There's a, perhaps cliche, saying that goes something like this "To Christians, God promises that everything will work for good, so remember if it's not good yet, He's not done." Keeping pushing forward, there is good and He is preparing it for you! Maybe a stranger, maybe an old friend, maybe just God's word... He will be with you and will guide you.

God bless.
