On my knees I stayed
Head in hands I remained
Streams of tears flowed from heart to eyes
My soul restless, wondered why
No peace I had on the road I walked
All the while I had sought
An exit perhaps or some way for it all to end
The turmoil I've been enduring now, I wish it was a then
Then I could look back and see
Those footprints were behind me
But it was a rocky path my feet touched
Which added to my aches and I hated much
Pools of tears all around
O my Lord please release me from this bound
Are You there? You said that You would be
Tell me something Lord, for doubt is what I feel
I have been there all along He says
Do not fear I AM here, I AM the way
With hands extended the holes I see
That He got for bearing me
Be still and know that I AM God, to me He said
I AM the Lord, I do not change, I AM alive not dead
