Yet not I but Christ lives in me the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself
for me. So says Paul in Galations 2. Paul is saying that he lives
"by the faith" which means he is transformed. Or in other words he
is changed so while he is in the flesh, his faith belongs to Jesus. So
whatever he says is not things that he has made up but rather what
God has given him to say directly. He is not bound by the law that
once existed because he is now a new creation. Of course we know
that Christ fulfilled the law by dying on the cross so we now live by
grace and not the law. The new law is the law of Christ which is "love".
Since love fulfils all the law, this is what He commanded us to do as
he said "Love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as
yourself". That makes all the rules simplified into one. However while
saying it is easy; living it is a constant challenge. Even though it is not
easy, we should never give up on it because God never gives up on us.
