Hey everyone...I just need some advice. My dad has been unemployed for 2 years. Things are starting to get really bad. He can't pay the bills, and can't buy many groceries. This august I am going to be a junior at a private christian university. This collge is $30,000 a year. I get some financial help from grants, but I am going to be in A LOT of loan debt when I graduate in 2012. I feel selfish for this. My dad is home struggling to pay bills, and I'm off at a private 30,000 a year college. I'm also worried that when I graduate, I won't be able to afford my loans and I won't have any family to help me out. I'm majoring in Social Work...and Social Worker's don't make a lot of money.
I've thought about transferring to a community college, then I could live at home, work, and go to school at the same time. However, the community colleges don't have a Social Work degree. If i went to a community college I would probably do something like radiology..then hopefully go on to ultra sound or something. But I really don't know what to do. I'm already probably 25,000 in debt from 2 years at school. If I leave now it will be all for nothing. I also don't want to leave my friends from college. I just don't know what to do. Either way, I don't want to regret in 20 years the choices I made now.
