I dont know where it started... it seems like ive been on a downhill slide for the past few years and i cant seem to pick my self back up. Im ashamed to call myself a christian at times, it feels like the "bad" side of me always overpowers the good. Please pray for me, i feel like im stuck in an endless loop that i cant brake free from. Im so frusterated and mad at myself, why i cant live the way a christian should! I know the things i do are wrong, and shameful in the eyes of the lord, but for whatever reason, it doesn't matter to me at the time. I feel hopeless

I could really use some bible verses to give me strength in those times when im at my weakest.

I thought Id let you know that I went through something simular when young. I called it straddleing the line. I walked with one foot in faith the other in rebellion. I felt as though I was giving up myself and for some reason felt angry at God for asking this of me.
I soon learned that what I gave up was death when God did something to get my attention.
I wouldnt recomend him having to get your attention as a way to walk in faith.
Our Lord God loves you so very much. In his eyes you are very valueble.
Tell Our Lord God just how you feel, how you struggle, how afraid you are. Even how angry you are. He already knows your thoughts and acts before you utter or do them. But being honest with him will help you be honest with your self.
When you turn to Jesus with all of yourself he shows you how to turn your life to him.
Jesus already paid for your sins because of his love for you. Who better to understand and help you.
: Ask and you shall recieve. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it will be opened to you.;
Jesus is waiting for you to trust all of yourself to him. He will help you place your feet on firm ground, one step at a time.
You are still in my prayers, I believe in you having the faith to succeed.
God bless, pickles

If it's any consolation, I was worse lol At least you recognize the problem - I didn't until... ummm... punishment lol

This is my favourite verse:

Matthew 10:22
"All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

It's the verse that I like to turn to whenever I'm faced with pressures and challenges. The first part isn't very comforting. However, knowing that it will happen and the reward that comes with standing firm makes it comforting.

Will pray that God will guide you in all your daily activities!

Shawny I know how you feel mate.

I hit rock bottom earlier in the year and I hated myself so much. I couldn't be the christian that I wanted to be. I can empathise with what pickles said about being caught between two worlds - this one and God's kingdom. I had to choose one. Neither were working for me, because I wanted both. Take comfort in the fact that you are sensitive to your own sins and do care about them. This means that you have a desire to change.

1 John 2:15 - "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him". This verse has been powerful for me.

Seemingly endless cycles of sin can and do end. I don't struggle with sins now that used to completely own me. Things that have helped me are the following:

- Withdrawing from the world. Look at who you hang around with and influences you. Are they worldy people?
- Giving up my worldy goals. Praying that God crushes these desires I had. Is your goal for life to seek and follow God's will for your life?
- Reading or listening to the bible every day. Studying it.
- Stop watching television.

I'm praying for you mate.

Shawny I thought of another verse which is relevant for you.

Mark 9:47 - "And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out..."

Whatever in your life is causing you to sin, get rid of it. Whatever situations lead to you sinning, avoid them. Whoever leads you to sin, avoid those people.

Always remember that God loves you despite your sins, because what has happened through Christ.

Read Ephesians 2:1-10. :)

God loves you, Jesus died because he loved he. He paid for your sins as someone else said. Are you a new Christan may I ask? I feel that way sometimes i just remember that the Lord is watching me,and he is always with me.

A merry heart doth good like a medicine;but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Proverbs 17:22

The name of the Lord is a strong tower;the righteous runneth to it and is safe. Proverbs 18: 10

God is faithful by whom ye were called unto the fellowship by his son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 cor 1: 9

Do you read your bible a lot? Try to and pray every single day. I will pray for you right now.

Father we life this man up to you, you know him you know all of our children speak to his heart put words in his mouth and in his heart in the name of Jesus we decree he will not get side tract amen.

I could really use some bible verses to give me strength in those times when im at my weakest.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Father in the name of Jesus, Please this man to avoid all things that make him walk contrary to your will for him, to walk in Righteousness and to fear you, put it in his heart to want your ways and to serve you rather than his flesh and sin, to want to be a Righteous witness and have not the shame of sinners, Amen.
