Just some idle thoughts on a rainy day...
Musing about the future, pondering the past...

I used to believe I was meant to start a Christian ranch camp. Unfortunately, I never pursued it.

Years and years have gone by; it's been a long time since I've given it much though. But when I do think about it, the same excitement grabs hold of me again.

What, I wonder, does any of this mean? Was it an assignment that I failed to complete?

Anyone else have destinations in life they failed to reach? What do we do about it now? Where do we go from here?

Somehow, I assumed that underprivileged inner city youth were the intended target of the vision. But ultimately, it became clear that any God-seeking young person or youth group would be welcomed.

My dream found its basis in Faith Ranch Camp in Ohio. I envisioned a working ranch camp with beef cattle and plenty of horses. Smaller stock could include sheep, goats, rabbits, etc. While learning about the basics of animal husbandry, kids would also learn of the Good Shepherd who cares for them.

Besides programs during the summer, the camp would offer weekend retreats for school groups or church groups.

I could go on and on, but I might seem somewhat daft to do so about something that exists only in my heart and mind.

Ahhh, yes, yours is the dream that is absolutely at the heart of the matter. Certainly, God desires this also, and praise be to Him that He will accomplish it. We will be partakers of that peace around the world! Looking at the world today, it is hard to imagine what that will be like. Only that seeing eye of faith, that substance of things hoped for, allows us to catch a glimpse.
