Anything can become an idol e.g.( self, TV, family, internet, friends, money) and many other things. The focus should always be on Jesus. By keeping your focus on Jesus, he will guide you in all things. He may guide you to a brother or sister in Christ,a Bible verse, Youtube , or even to a street corner to preach. The problem is when Jesus leads you somewhere and then you stop following Jesus.You turn the thing he has lead you to into an idol. The trust and focus becomes on that thing and you are not getting lead by Jesus anymore, but by self, a person,or a thing.You are no longer following the Master. He stops speaking to you , because your not obeying him, but your obeying these idols. Brothers and sisters can become and idol. They can become your God! Obey and only follow Jesus. Don't make people and things idols. Do what Jesus is telling you to do. You have to know his voice for yourself. Seek Jesus! Listen and Obey! We have to be willing to forsake anything and everybody for Jesus. Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the Life. Turn away from your idols! All glory is due unto the King!
