Read 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Hebrews 4:12, John 5:39. This thread is about rightly dividing the Word of God, and holding the Word as #1 to measure all things, phenomena, etc in life. All things acceptable/truthful are ACCORDING to the Word. Objective analysis should always be paramount to subjective analysis when interpreting the Word. Here are the two definitions:

subjective- judgment based on individual personal impressions and feelings and opinions rather than external facts
objective- emphasizing or expressing things as perceived without distortion of personal feelings, insertion of fictional matter, or interpretation(In other words, "of or relating to actual facts as opposed to thoughts or feelings")

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20

Why does God give us these warnings? Because people CAN and HAVE fallen for doctrines of demons that sound good at face value. Please read Jeremiah 14:14, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Corinthians 11:12-14, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Ephesians 4:14-15, 1 John 4:1, etc.

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

I sense that many Christians have followed more of the teachings/interpretations of theologians , speakers, popular authors(subjective analysis) more than the Word of God(objective analysis). Here is what God has to say about that- Jeremiah 17:5, Psalm 118:8, Romans 3:4, Colossians 2:8. While it isnt wrong per se to read Christian books, you must match what they say with the Word of God to see if they speak the truth ACCORDING to the Word(Isaiah 8:20). Because satan often disguises himself and his doctrines as Biblical(see 2 Corinthians 11:12-14). You should always interpret Scripture through the objective lens of Scripture, and if you use subjective material, make sure it speaks according to the Word. What I am saying is that the largest chunk of your understanding Scripture should be from reading/studying the Scriptures yourself with the help of the Holy Ghost.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

When you read Scripture, it is very important to measure Scriptures to other Scriptures to reconcile the Word of God as a whole. Read the verse in context(eg: passage grouping) then think of how it connects to the rest of the Word of God. When you seemingly come to a contradiction, you should know that God never contradicts Himself(or else He would be lying, He cannot lie-Titus 1:2), so it is an issue of interpreting the verse/passage correctly. The Holy Ghost teaches us, instructs us, and reminds us what the Word says(John 14:26). The Holy Ghost helps interpret the Word of God by comparing spiritual things to spiritual(1 Corinthians 2:12-14). The natural man cannot understand the Word without spiritual discernment. When you placed faith in Christ, you were given the Holy Ghost to indwell within you(Ephesians 1:13). We were then called to be grounded in the Word, to grow(1 Peter 2:2). Rely on the Holy Ghost to teach and correct you. There are passages in the Word that are difficult to understand. Keeping them in context with the rest of the Word is pivotal. Even when you do not understand a particular passage, go back to what you already know and ask the Holy Ghost to help discern the passage. The most basic knowledge every born again believer knows is the gospel of their salvation. 2 Peter 3:16 is a stern warning to those who would wrestle the Scriptures to their own destruction.

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." 2 Peter 3:16

I write this to warn you, and to encourage you. To contend for the faith, and lead other believers into more truth about God's Word. I am in no way infallible to what I just wrote. I mess up all the time and ask God to help keep me straight......Meditate on Proverbs 3:5-6. God bless=).....

roaringkitten,

The fact is, that some will never respond to your posts because they have written you off and don't want to be associated with you. But, many others do have respect for you and love you because they know that your heart is in the right place. I will say this about you and the portion that you contribute to the body of Christ. If any brother were to get in trouble because of sin or failure and had confessed it before God and did what they could to make things right, they would have no greater advocate then to have you represent them before any of their accusers. You would support and restore them in the love of God, through justification by grace and through faith, without demanding any performance of works on their part. If they were not received back into fellowship, you would fellowship with them and lay your life down and bear their burden because that is what Christ did for us, by grace and without works. You are a true friend of God and His word and that friendship would be extended unconditionally to all those that need it. That makes you a peace maker and not a trouble maker. Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called the children of God (Mt 5:9) because they love God's word (Ps 119:165).

I totally 100% agree with everything you just said. If you believe that the Holly Ghost is with you how can you write other posts putting limits on the Holy Ghost.

hahha hahaha haha lol noahsdad,

nah, just dont mind those posts that bother you, lol dont TRUST anyone that easily, just because of what they post hey! even bible scholars could could make their own story out of the bible. so yeah we never know whos telling the truth, believe what God reveals unto you, not what people puts on your mind. they dont have a right to say YOU're wrong, WHO ARE THEY??? were they present when God saved you??? do they even know how you met God?? are they claiming to be God's children, okay! if thats what they say :p lol they never have any idea how God talks to you, NO IDEA AT ALL!!! lol. juz sad that some people claim to be glorifying God, when in fact they're disgracing the Holy Spirit. thats intolerable. unacceptable.

its better to Trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
you will know them by their fruit, people speak lies and all! do not be deceived. set up your hearts for GOD! and GOD and GOD and GOD ALONE! and HE will let you know if a person is talking about truth. and THAT IS THE ONLY WAY to know the truth, and a piece of advise, if you think you know enough, lol think again, what are we ?? we cant even count our own hair.

I could never limit the Holy Ghost. Because He is infinitely greater and powerful than I could ever be. Its just that, I dont believe everything I hear because the Word of God is my guideline.....If It doesn't go according to the Word, I will not accept it, nor would I go around promoting it......As Abby says, dont just trust me for my word....Trust the Word ITSELF above scholars, authors, etc....

I dont label myself as any denomination btw(It just happens I align myself with most of the Baptists viewpoints). And when I expose false doctrine, I dont attack denominations, but the very issue of false doctrine....If I had tone of voice on here, you would probably get a concerned tone from me....Not someone who throws the Bible at someone.....And I dont want anyone to think my interpretation of the Word is always 100% and infallible.....But I am firmly grounded in the core of Christianity(salvation by faith).....I ask God to humble me to be open to correction when the Spirit leads me....And I would ask for the same with Christians in general....

And thank you BLC for the encouragement......Like I've said before, I wish I could have the luxury of tone of voice here on CC.....Because I write these threads out of deep concern and love for my brethren in Christ and to warn people about false doctrine.....I wish they could see that....:)
