Totalitarianism in the UK is seriously ratcheting up with new 'The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill was introduced into the House of Commons on 9 May 2013' and about to reach its report stage in the House of Lords.

It's called the law to stop everyone and everything. The police swoop down on you for making a joke, walking on a street outside of your neighborhood they don't think you should be on, wearing a political shirt they don't like, because someone doesn't like your religious opinion, or whatever else is handy at the moment and take you to jail for the crime of being offensive (in their opinion).

But, of course, they won't be deployed against corporations, Muslims, or the wealthy. They will be deployed against freedom loving people and the youth primarily. They will be used to pursue children for the crime of being young and together in a public place and those who want to change their nation, society, and political system for the better.

Orwellian, Stalinist, totalitarianism has made great inroads into the UK since the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 criminalizing an apparently endless range of activities and subjecting thousands, mostly the young and poor, to bespoke laws.

It's all about to get 1,000 times worse if this is enacted into law. Make a note of it.
 
The government suffered a big defeat in the House of Lords on Wednesday evening over its planned new injunctions to tackle antisocial behaviour.

Peers voted by 306 to 178, majority 128, against the plans amid fears that noisy children, carol singers, and practically anyone doing anything could fall victim to the government's proposed injunctions.

The ipnas could have been used for anyone over the age of 10, only required proof "on the balance of probability", could have lasted for an indefinite period of time, and resulted in a prison term if breached.

But the government tried to put that on the people. They actually tried to do that to their own populace and 178 peers went along with it!

Shameful. Dark. Terrible.
 
lets say, I am annoyed with goverment's atack on the populace at large. most it comes from the tories too
 
it would of ended in large scale riots anyway and then get as it would be hard to imprison a million or so people

I don't know what to say. There's plenty of tolerance here in the UK. Plenty of tolerance that looks good in the media. Tolerance for Religion, Race, Sexual Preference etc.

The only thing there seems to be no tolerance for is the actions of the poor. Not that a lot of their behaviour shouldn't be condemned but they focus on the wrong things and as a result upset people more than they should. I'm happy to go into examples when I get more time later.
 
Europe continues to follow the path to a state of affairs concerning speech so restrictive that Europeans may as well not even bother opening their mouths or writing an essay, for the least criticism, especially of Islam, can be interpreted by Muslims and by European Union bureaucrats as “hurtful” or “defamatory” or an expression of “hate” [and result in fines and prison sentences].

Soeren Kern, in his October 28th Gatestone article “EU Proposal to Monitor ‘Intolerant’ Citizens,” reported:

"While European leaders are busy expressing public indignation over reports of American espionage operations in the European Union, the European Parliament is quietly considering a proposal that calls for the direct surveillance of any EU citizen suspected of being “intolerant.”

Critics say the measure — which seeks to force the national governments of all 28 EU member states to establish “special administrative units” to monitor any individual or group expressing views that the self-appointed guardians of European multiculturalism deem to be “intolerant” — represents an unparalleled threat to free speech in a Europe where citizens are already regularly punished for expressing the “wrong” opinions, especially about Islam.

The proposed European Framework National Statute for the Promotion of Tolerance (1) was recently presented to members of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, the only directly-elected body of the European Union.

Kern goes on to explain that the focus of the proposed legislation is an unqualified “tolerance” that will not “tolerate” the least criticism of especially Islam, and provides a breakdown of the intent and method of enforcing “tolerance.” Importantly, he emphasizes:

Section 6 states: “It goes without saying that enactment of a Statute for the Promotion of Tolerance does not suffice by itself. There must be a mechanism in place ensuring that the Statute does not remain on paper and is actually implemented in the world of reality.”

An explanatory note to Section 6 (a) states: “Members of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups are entitled to a special protection, additional to the general protection that has to be provided by the Government to every person within the State.” Another note adds: “The special protection afforded to members of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups may imply a preferential treatment. Strictly speaking, this preferential treatment goes beyond mere respect and acceptance lying at the root of tolerance.”

I 100% guarantee you that if I lived in Europe they would put me in a prison hole so deep for violating their anti-free speech laws it would be a miracle if I ever surfaced again. And then I would rewind and start over from the beginning. Free speech is a HUMAN RIGHT!

What Europe is doing is with regards to criminalizing the speech of moral people and those who love their nation's culture because immoral people and Muslims find it offensive is disgraceful, intolerant, offensive, and evil.
 
Liberals no longer respect liberty as they did under classical liberalism. Somewhere the freedom to let others say and be transitioned into a bizarre idea that a person’s speech, beliefs and attitudes are inseparable from who he or she is as an individual and community participant.

Thus, to speak against another's beliefs is now tantamount to attacking them personally even though it's not.

That's why so many misinformed "liberals" want to curb freedom of speech and actually use government to persecute those who disagree with them. They have become intolerant to the point they can no longer even tolerate having the discussion no matter if everything you say is accurate, true, and needs to be said so the right decisions can be reached.

Their agenda isn't the simple acceptance of persons who are different or believe or behave differently in line with classical tolerance but rather they require your approval to the extent that they will wield government force against you if you disapprove.

This postmodern political correctness they've created is defined as conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend postmodern political sensibilities [as in matters of morality, religion, race] should be eliminated.

Eliminated. Pay attention to that word as that is their ultimate goal. They wish to eliminate your beliefs from the political and social landscape and if that fails then it's not a stretch that they will act as their 20th century predecessors did and eliminate you and I if they can.

Unliberalism defines what they've become far better than the word liberalism. They are the unliberals.
