Innocents burning in hell?

I have a question. Well you know how we are all to follow Jesus and learn from him etc, well I put myself in the shoes of others for a second. A church I used to attend, the Pastor would talk a bout Jews who didn't believe Jesus was the messiah or mormons and Islams who all were going to hell because they didn't believe in Jesus. Well I thought a bout it, and I thought how could this be? Jews growing up thinking their religion is whats true with all certainty or mormons who think they are the truest going to hell? Now some can have the opportunity to know Jesus, but I know many will not.Or people of the past, like native Americans who never heard of Christianity. I cant remember if I read somewhere in the bible a bout all the people who didn't know Jesus just had to look to the stars and declare there is a God. Would this also apply to Jews and many other religions? This has always got me. I though a bout someone who might have grown up thinking certain views or beliefs and believing they are correct. Someone once told me God judges people on what they know, which came from a very wise Christian man who I have never met anyone like him and he is very well respected. Is this true? And to what extent? What would "Knowing Jesus" as to this be redefined as? Just knowing who he was as is, or having a relationship with him, either way both could go questioned as "being judged on what we know".This has always troubled me, I don't think small children go to hell, because of similar reasoning.

There is a fine line in discussing this I think. So possibly people who reject God only go to hell? Not people who don't know him as concerning people who are well defined in their beliefs and unshaken in it or those never heard of it. I don't know, I just think a bout it and decided to ask these questions...​
 
I cant really address all of what you said, but i can address one thing. We ALL grow up with our own set of beliefs. Muslims are raised in a certain culture. Mormons are raised in a culture. Even Christians are raised in a false culture. We all have to make a choice at some point as to what we will believe. Culture is not
God. Family belief sistema are not God. We all must make a choice. My family of origin was steeped in a very unholy culture. It is my responsibility to choose to belief Gods truth over my families. We are not bound to our culture and families belief system. We are free to choose no
matter how near or dar it approaches the culture of God's kingdom.
 
There's a part in the bible with people saying lord did we not prophesy and cast out demons in your name and jesus says depart from me I never knew you. There is a big difference in believing jesus was real and there is a god and actually knowing jesus and accepting his sacrife to save you. We need to know him not just know of him. Like I know of you but don't know you personally. Jews fall under the old covenant but they are still gods chosen people. The 144,000 in the book of revelation are jews. 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of israel will be sealed by god. Children go to heaven until they are old enough to understand salvation and their need for it. Jewish children reach the age of accountability at 13. This is when they are considered grown up. Then they have to choose for themselves to serve god. Perry stone has a teaching about the cherokee indians having descended from jews if that subject interests you. As far mormons and muslims even athiest. They serve a god of their own making. A false god. They will not see heaven because they don't serve the one true god. Its called idol worship. If I was to proclaim the zues is my god will I go to heaven. No because zues ain't real. Just cause I believe he is don't make him real and able to get me to heaven. Jesus is the way the truth and the life and none will come to the father except through him. Jesus makes salvation simple, the devil and peoples own imaginations like to cloud things. Salvation is a gift only jesus can offer, either you except it or not. People go to hell by their own choice or ignorance not because gods sends them there.
 
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but in Gods eyes, no man is innocent....

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". The bible speak of both curses and blessings through several generations,
so if we are to go by innocence, then no one goes to heaven :(

... Hence the need for the sacrifice.

As for children too young to conciously make a stand, I personally think they have a built- in knowledge of God,
after all, He has written his law on our hearts.
 
Others may believe their own truth. Even athiest have their own truth. If I belived whole heartedly I was a car and that was my truth. Does that mean I really am a car. I know that's a little extreme but just because they believe they are right doesn't mean god will let them in heaven. Maybe I'm not hitting your point correctly but there is no substitute for knowing and exepting jesus. We can't get in by works or belivieving in a god that exists. True those with more knowledge has a greater responsibility. I can't be docked for not tithing if I've never been taught about it but as far as salvation alone we will have no excuses on judgement day.
 
Well my question wasn't really addressed. As no man being innocent, that is true but as innocents burning in hell I meant going there because they don't believe of Jesus. And @ Jordache, believing in God is a belief, regardless of his existence. I was more directing what I was saying towards those who are firmly stabled in what they believe. If they decide to make a choice, as choosing, then yes that would be appropriate. As from their perspective, you need to choose in their salvation. What they know is truth to them. So how can they turn away from truth? And @ barukhmalachi, I see what you say a bout the Jews. But still like I said, a Mormon.He believes his God is true, whether its just a belief or not, what us as Christians believe its still a belief regardless of truths. His isn't the truth yeah, and it wont get them to heaven, makes sense.But how can they accept the gift of salvation if they think they have it, and in their eyes: they know they do. They are deceived yes, so are we all according to the bible. What if I had grown up thinking stealing to survive was okay, then later someone tells me its not...yeah I could make the choice to whats right, but I think stealing is right of course.And I just though of this, though if I was smart enough I could see many Christians and what they believe and try to figure what they believe and learn stealing was wrong. Now that somewhat makes sense. Well I guess if someone could see the larger picture then that could lead them to example as long as they are not selfish. And I agree with you wwjd_kilden, with children having a built in knowledge of God. That would make sense.
 
is Gods ear so deaf that he cant hear ?
is his hand so short that he cant save ?

does God bring people into this world just to smile as they are sent to hell ?

your old pastor is being very silly ,,,, its God who says who gets into heaven and who dosent ,,,,,, not some pastor
