To be honest, I have a lot of sympathy with the Muslim Palestinians.
Even as far back as the middle-ages, Christians were claiming the land as 'rightfully' theirs, and launching Crusade after Crusade to take the Holy Land by force.
And then, after World War 2, we have two groups of peoples with no country to call their own: the Jews and the Kurds.
Both are given new lands to call their own - Israel and Kurdistan.
Of course, no thought is given to the Muslim families living in those areas, who are forcibly turfed out of their homes so that the Jewish diaspora can be reunited.
And what of Kurdistan? No, sorry, we've found oil there, so we change our minds. Let's split the land between Turkey, Iraq and others. Forget the Kurds, leave them to rot.
So again, the western world favours the Jews and treats the Muslims badly.
Then of course the Israeli Jews are not satisfied with their new land - not content with displacing millions of Palestinians, they seek to enlarge their empire through conquest, attacking Jordan, Egypt etc in an attempt to increase their borders.
And how do they do this? Thanks to armaments and funding provided for them the the West, of course.
So the Israeli/Palestinian conflict goes on, the Jews with a US-funded army and nuclear weapons at their disposal, the Palestinians with home-made bombs. It's David vs Goliath all over again.
Neither side are blameless, the Muslims replying with acts of terrorism, aimed at both the Jews and their Western backers.
It's a mess, that's what it is... and a solution looks more unlikely with every passing year.
