So you think its wrong for a mother to have an abortion even if having the baby would put her life at risk?

Because let us be fair this isn't nearly as salacious as you make it sound:
On Monday night’s episode entitled “Mother,” 20-weeks-pregnant character Lena (played by “Rescue Me” actress Sherri Shaum) winds up in the hospital with pre-eclampsia and the diagnosis that she could die if she continues with the pregnancy. The doctor tells the couple they can induce labor and watch the baby die, or end the pregnancy. Lena and her wife Stef (played by “Meet the Parents” actress Terri Polo) decide to abort the baby in order to save Lena.

I'd expect my wife to do the same thing. I certainly wouldnt pick some unknown child or the woman I married. If you think women should die instead of get an abortion in cases like this, well then I think youre starting to worship the fetus a bit too much.

Don't be fooled tv is getting worse and worse including Disney's ABC Family.

There are shows now that no one would let their kids watch 20, 30 or 40 years ago. Why are some Christians turning away from God and accepting all that the world has to offer? I don't get it.

What is not ok now will be so accepted by Christians 50 years from now because that is what happened 50 years ago up until today. I know not one Christian is perfect and we will all make mistakes, but some Christians just have given up trying?

Some Christians want to worship what the world has to offer and not what Jesus died on the cross for us for? Just asking?
 
I'd say there are worse things on TV than that..... what about all the violence? (ie typical action shootouts, the "good guy" beating up the "bad guy" etc) Or is that OK since it is just entertainment?

...a late-term abortion is pretty violent.
The show presents a moral dilemma: whose life should be sacrificed that of the mother or that of her unborn baby? The mother, in our case, is a selfish lesbian who can not have babies with her same sex partner (what a surprise!), but decides that she wants a baby anyway (as if having a baby is like having a pet).

I think that this dilemma could have been avoided. I don't understand the lesbians who want to act like a heterosexual couple. If you are lesbian, play your lesbian role, don't assume the role of a mother because it goes against the idea of being lesbian in the first place.

I'm not saying that I agree with abortion as a general rule. As a matter of fact, I am mostly against abortions. however. I suspect that any of us in a situation like that would choose an abortion. After all, if the mother dies, both the mother and the baby dies.

and I find it strange that many find such topics terrible, while "shootouts" are totally ok ;)

The shootouts between drug cartels are "little children" compared to the systematic and repeated shoots that a vulnerable baby receives from doctor Mengele. In the second case, not only is violent, but also coward, because you hit someone who can not protect himself.
Also, if both the mother and the baby died, choosing the life of the mother over that of the baby would no longer be a moral dilemma. Since it is not the case, I agree with you that most of us would chose to have abortion, but please, let's not pretend that we don't know what a late-term abortion means, ok?
 
In other words, it is cynical to belittle the killing of a baby and talk about shootouts.

I'm sorry, I rushed when I wrote that. I do not know what the episode was actually about but the killing of a baby is always a matter of morality and even beyond morality, regardless of the case.
 
Today's television is a mess. We don't even have one in our house anymore. And this is why. A supposed "family" station is broadcasting two very bad things at once: normalizing deviant sexual behavior and the wretched, horrid decision regarding a baby's life. Tell me, are either of these things appropriate for children to watch? Geez...

I believe it would be wrong for me if I was pregnant and had an abortion in any circumstance. I would die for others, including my children.

With our advanced technology today a preemie can be saved and you know what? To live is Christ, to die is gain. I live for God and He commanded us not to kill. There was not clause that included unborn babies. Period. If I were ever in that situation, I would the same belief. If I perish, I perish. I will be with the Lord. Suck it up and be a human.
 
Whatever your beliefs concerning abortion in the case of saving the mother, I personally don't think this is an appropriate subject for a kid's show, especially when you throw in the fact that they are lesbians. Personally I think a large amount of television nowadays is garbage, whether it's the violent, sex filled, anti-hero worshipping, "edgy" shows on HBO and A&E, or the trashy, tacky reality shows on every other channel, or supposed "kid's shows" like this that center on homosexuality and abortion. If I had kids I would be tempted to toss out the TV.

As far as I know when the baby threatens the life of the mother the baby is not viable ( either dead or will not survive anyways )

So, REALITY suggests this circumstance cannot happen and ABC ''family'' is just another idiotic social experiment to push liberal propaganda.

The ego involved to destroy the fabric of society so your agendas can be manifest is....astounding.

The real word is......disgusting.
