In no way should our country come before God, but there is nothing wrong with being patriotic, respecting the flag, etc. The Bible says to obey the laws of the land you're living in, as long as they don't contradict the written Word of God. "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone" is in Romans 12:18. When our soldiers are out protecting our country and their families, it is awesome to support them, respect them, and show them honor. A democracy for a government is not the biblical example of government, but it is not sinful. Therefore, as Christians, we can support and honor our country, our military, and our leaders, as long as we continue to have God first in our lives and our hearts. The moment patriotism becomes more important to us than our relationship with Jesus Christ and what He did to save us, THEN we are in sin.
