Thoughts on the video? If you haven't seen it i really reccomend it. Its been really contraversial at the college i attend.
 
I get what he meant in the video. A lot of people don't like it because they didn't get what he was trying to say.. However, whether you believe in the grace message or the law, you're still under some kind of religion. XD lol
 
My sister loves it and was the one who showed me the video. I think there are a lot truths in it and Jesus truly is and should be greater than religion. I also like some of his other videos.

I would recommend watching it as well. It certainly may give you lots to think about.

I think it's silly. Arguing that Christianity isn't a religion... of course it is. James says "pure religion is this: to comfort widows and orphans and remain unspotted by the world." That's a mother teresa picture.
 
the word 'religion' is used so loosely, you can't take it literally in the video. the message is good if you get it. any belief system believed by a group of people is a religion by definition. but what should be Christ's religion, has become distorted. there's so much diversity in different churches. so, your religion can't be about going to church. you have to find God for yourself, through your own reading and understanding of the Bible and prayer. its up to you to find God, not somebody else to do it for you
 
I'd never seen or heard of this vid (old age, people) but as I understand it he's saying Jesus is greater than any religious system. Which I believe to be true.
He has to be first, and last, and He rules over any church authority or organization. Do I have that right- do you think that's what he's saying?


beeteedubs, that verse from James- Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27. That word that's translated "religion" actually means newness in the Greek. Cool, yes? And it's a great example of what our newness should look like. Not buildings, or systems outside of scripture, but visiting orphans and widows and remaining pure. Awesome.
