Isaiah 7:14 states, The Lord will give you a sign: A virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6 adds, For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Matthew 1:21 says, "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

From the 3 prophecies above, there are seven names that God decreed - call the name of the child [born of a virgin]: Immanuel, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, and Jesus. Whose names are these? Clearly, they belong to God.

Therefore, being the names of God give us a clear indication that Immanuel is also the Mighty God or the Everlasting Father or Wonderful or Counselor or the Prince of Peace or JESUS, but the Son of God (Luke 1:35) refers to the male child born to Mary, whom God commanded to be called by these names.

The LXX doesn't have everlasting father in that verse, and since scripture explicitly shows there is a difference between the son and the father, I'm going with the LXX.

For a child was born to us; a son was given to us, of whom the sovereignty became upon his shoulder; and his name is called messenger of great counsel, wonderful counselor, mighty God, potentate, ruler of peace, father of the coming age. For I will bring peace upon the rulers, and his health. Isaiah 9:6

Okay, let me equate that to Isa 7:14 and Matt 1:21

Immanuel = Mighty God = Father of the Coming Age = Jesus
