Job 18
seems like his friend is still thinking he is in sin
he thinks Job is not being realistic and accepting it that he is a sinner. he talks of how the wicked perishes ver 5-21
Why are we counted as cattle?
Why are we stupid in your sight?
4 You who tear yourself in your anger,
shall the earth be forsaken for you,
or the rock be removed out of its place?
then right before Bildad looks down on job for tearing himself. maybe he meant tear as in cry? or torn down emotionally...
the prev chap when Job was talking ...they probably thought he is removing his frustration n Bildad took it personally
Bildad is literally drilling him to death and saying that Job is responsible for his suffering and no one will remember him after he dies .
So he shld accept he has sinned and ask for forgiveness
Bildad still wants Job to repent of his sins, giving examples of how ungodly live. Only gives rebukes. I think when Bildad says "You who tear yourself to pieces in your anger" in verse 4, he's referring to Job saying, "God assails me and tears me in his anger and gnashes his teeth at me" (Job 16:9) as in it's Job who tears himself apart (like ripping himself up) rather than God.
