Job 5

His friend is telling him to turn to God

Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;

therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty

He thinks that job that has something terribly wrong or God wldnt have punished him , so he is telling to turn to God. but in all things it is good to turn to God. The other way to look at it God is trying to discipline Job , according to his friend. he was probably wrong in saying that though. God wasn't disciplining job. Yup...it was a great test for Job n his friends of course did not know. Sometimes we have people in our life who will do what Job's friend did Spiritually may sound right but that is not exactly what happens. Don’t u feel this personally
U r going thru a test, which is never easy n then u have people to say things that will make it sound impossible. but it seems like his friend is trying to give him hope , speaks of how just God is and for Job not to despise God's discipline (Job 5:17).

Oh, and just something to keep in mind, I have in my notes that I took previously that in Job 42:7, God says to Eliphaz, "After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has." Also, in the same chapter in verse 3, Job says, "You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know." So, I just wanted to point that out that even though there are some things that Job and his three friends said that are wise and good and that we can learn from, what they said wasn't correct concerning God and why Job went through what he did. I think sometimes we come up with reasons why we go through things, and although some of what we say may be correct in other situations, they may not be the correct reason in our case. In those times we should pray for wisdom. But anyway, I just thought I'd point that out as we continue on so we take what their reasonings were lightly

Eliphaz thought he was wise and thought that he gave a good advice , it might sound good to him others but they dint couldnt understand Job's test ..like verse 17 ;he thought that God was trying to discipline Job but it was just that the enemy was opposing him .

He did says right thing in verse 19 .that our God cares ...and then verse 20-24 he shows him that there is hope . Well , Job being a righteous is aware about these things and his suffering was not normal which we all know why..
