Before we say John 3:16 again, let's take a moment to think about it.
This is the full meaning of the verse: (It's lengthy but worth it. You've been warned.)
For God so loved the world that He...
Created a planet of beings capable of thinking for themselves, which just turned into a world full of selfish, irresponsible brats that He knew would cause Him so much pain, even rejecting everything He would do...
Allowed His Son to
plan. out. how He would personally suffer for the sake of those that hate Him, even to the point of personally insuring that history went just right to be prepared to torture and kill Him the right way...
Dealt with faithless flip floppers, a families with problems worse than modern tv shows, an entire nation "devoted" to Him that regularly turned on Him at the drop of a hat, which they willingly and repeatedly dropped...
Watched in sorrow as that nation suffered for their sin, came to personally rescue them, only to be rejected and killed by them...
He specifically left His Father's side to spend about thirty-three years facing life as a human; sickness, loneliness -such loneliness-pain, sadness, even putting up with twelve well-meaning grown children for three years, all just to be taken by the nation He came to save, and be...
Beaten, mocked, turned over to the nation's enemy, deemed righteous by the enemy, which tortured Him anyway with a whip so vicious, it literally would rip the skin off one's back. He was beaten with a reed and had the hair of his beard plucked. He was beaten so badly, the Bible says He no longer looked like a human...
He had a crown of huge spike thorns shoved and beaten onto His head, then He was hung on the cross. Here, He hung in the scorching noonday sun of the Middle East with two choices: suffocate in agony or use His sleep-deprived body (with every bone out of joint and his raw back against the rugged cross) to lift Himself up, sending a horrifying electric pain through all of His nerves, due to the expert placement of the nails....
And in the midst of this, the full weight of every sinful thing I've ever done or said, everything you've ever done wrong, with the guilt and shame, the emotional heartache and fear...of every single person on the planet...from all of history....it all was dumped on Jesus at this moment, and His Father, God, had to look away.
Jesus literally died of a broken heart, but He rose from the grave so you and I could put our faith in Him. And that's how much God loves us...nope, it doesn't end there....
With everything done, Jesus still couldn't enjoy physically being present with His children yet. He had to leave us so that God the Spirit could come. Jesus saved us, but He went further and determined that every Christian will, no matter what, be made perfect and everything as a human being that we would ever, truly want to be...not "filthy rich", but whole as a person...
Do you have a phobia? An addiction? Are you immature? Want to be a real man, husband, woman, wife, etc.? Being a Christian isn't about what you have to do or not do, but it's fully giving yourself over to Jesus and trusting Him to fully take control of you so He can do it for you. At the end of time, God will finally get to fellowship with His creation in person like in the garden, but better. It will be perfect forever.
However, unfortunately, it won't be with all of His creation....
God spent eternity before the earth even existed planning to save His creation, spent thousands of earth years putting up with us, watched His Son endure literally the worst fate in history, and for what? For most of His creation to mock Him, hate Him; to say He's just cheap fiction.
God loved the world so much, that He did all that for them, knowing full well that they would reject Him anyway, even with them knowing full well what He was trying to rescue them from.
