read John 4:3-26
Jesus returns home to meet his disciples and see his family
Now most Jews of the day would have walked around Samaria by going through the ten cities and take longer route to avoid Samariants.
This would have been in Israel territory of Ephraim given to the sons of Joseph's eldest boy
people would have meet at the well it would have been a landmark.
The woman came when nobody else would have been there but Jesus was there. He asks for a drink, it would have been a great way to start a conversionand share the good news.
So his disciples went for food.
The Samaritan woman knew Jews thought they were better than Samaritan. Samaritans were a mix between Jew and Gentile so they were unclean.
Jeus presents the gospel in a way that makes you ask what without the Spirit one can not understand this teaching which is about eternal life.
Jesus had nothing to get water from the well. If He was giving away water from the well He would not of asked her to draw Him a drink from the well. He has her attention.
Answers is yes.
-14 He shares the gospel after talking about the water.
His message is accepted by her but it is somewhat not understood. If we accept God's message and misunderstand it God will show us the truth in a different way.
-18 Jesus shows He knows all.
Jesus was far more than a prophet. This is God sometimes works you start to think there is some truth and then you accept the whole truth.
They were comdemned for worshiping on the mountain and pegan worship began after breaking one rule it is easier for us to break another rule.
This time was at hand and is still here today. When Jesus died on the cross He opened up the relationship for anyone who accepts the cross and what Christ did on it. We now have a personal ralationship with God thru Christ.
Salvation came thru Jesus who was Jewish by birth. The Samaritians may have did what they did out of tradition much like the Pharisees.
-24 This is the church today. Our flesh is corrupted so when have to have the Spirit instead of our flesh. This Spirit is the same Spirit that guided the prophets and lead the disciples.
-26 They knew about the Messiah or Christ and they knew would come to them. What they would have never expected was Him to come to a woman who has been married 5 times and is living with a guy, even to the Samaritans this would have been a sinner and unclean woman. Men did not talk to woman out in public in these days.

God's grace does the work
