I don't think that any fascist party will ever get into power over here- at least I really hope not. Although coming from West Yorkshire where we have a fair amount of racial tension it doesn't seem too unlikely.
Personally, I don't have a problem with immigration in the UK aslong as it doesn't get out of control.
I think the more cultures we have the better as it makes our society more well rounded and helps us to understand others better.
Also I want to emigrate when I'm older so would be rather hypocritical for me to dislike the idea!

Yeah, I totally agree. I just watched "V For Vendetta" the other night so I was wondering...
I'm from the north east area and there seems to be some major hatred for other races. But that just seems to be from charva's, chavs (what ever I dont care on the pronounciation). But it suprised me in light of this whole cadburys thing that how many people WOULD vote BNP or NF if Labout wasn't in power. It scares me. lol

V For Vendetta is an awesome film!! I've watched it about a hundred times but it's still as great as the first!
Am I being totally stupid for not knowing what the Cadburys thing is all about? Hmm...I'm intrigued
Around here it does seem to be "chavvy" type folk who seem to support the BNP, but even within my freinds at school there are a LOT of closet racists which is frightening especially as I go to a fairly middle class school where people should know better!

I wouldn't be worried about the Fascist parties. I would be worried about immigration for sure! I actually live in Canada, but I'm concerned about the catastrophic damage that mass immigration can inflict upon a nation. I'm still scared after I visited the United Kingdom in 2006 and witnessed the protests against those cartoons. I was in London, and there were large protests with people holding signs saying "Freedom of expression: Go to Hell!" (am I the only one who sees the hilarious irony in this?). And how about those eighty-five Sharia law courts, eh?
Maybe I am a "closet racist", but I've never been entirely on board with the whole "multiculturalism" thing. I think that "tolerance", despite supposedly being a key national value, should be treated with a certain deal of caution. I appreciate the steps that my government has taken with this idea in mind, and hope to see further steps taken in future.

Immigration is ok as long as there are restraints, after all, there's only so many people the government can support.
Unfortunately, every time there is a recession or depression, the fascist idiots always get more power, cos people get desperate.
