I have to get liver tested every 6 weeks, because I am on some very harsh cancer drugs, to suppress my RA. Methotrexate is the prime culprit, it is also the drug I need the most, in combo with 2 other chemo drugs, a DMARD - Arava and a biologic - Orencia. But, methx is the worst, and decongestants and antihistamines also raised my enzymes.
The raised enzymes are sign the liver is struggling. So, I had a cold a few weeks ago, took decongestants, then a blood test. Sure enough, the enzymes were raised. My rheumatologist phoned to tell me to hold the mthx, I told him what I had been taking, so he gave me 5 days before my next blood test.
So, I got out a book on healing livers, and my juicer, a very large Breville Juice Fountain elite. I got some organic beets, since mine were all used up, and some organic carrots. I added some celery, a clove garlic, an apple, 1/2 lemon, and some beet green leaves and blueberries. I put them through the juicer, a full glass I had once a day on an empty stomach. When Friday came, I was certain my liver sac was not hurting (the liver has no nerve endings, but the sac around it does!).
Sure enough, the enzymes all came back totally normal.
So, if you eat well, do not drink, but you still have raised liver enzymes you might want to try this. Try and get organic fruits and vegetables as they affect much sweeter, and then you are not taking in a lot of sprays and chemicals when you are supposed to be cleansing.
PS. It is very tasty, once you get used to it! LOL
