THEY'RE DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

I know they're my parents, they love me, i should respect them, i live in their house. ETC. but some of the crap they come up with is just plain STUPID!

all of a sudden its my job to make sure the kitchen is cleaned every night. don't like it cause i feel like THATS a chore that everyone should share. but i accept it. BUT the rule is if i don't clean it the night before my dad wakes me up when he gets up at six in the morning to clean them. I DON"T WAKE UP UNTIL 8!!!!!

and on top of that hes set up some new rule that i can't leave the house (this includes going to work or school) until i have all of my "chores" done. meaning walk the dog, clean me room, cleaning the bathroom, and whatever else they decide is a chore of mine. this i would be ok with if they were doing the same thing. my parents room is a MESS. their bathroom smells. they counter is filthy. the kitchen.

the house is totally unorganized. they have saddles in the dinning room, important papers ALL over the kitchen. their shoes are left in the middle of the floor and etc.

i just don't understand how they can justify punishing me for things they can't even manage to get done themselves!

I just dont listen to mines and eventually they stop whining.

. . . . .they'll take my door (they already took my brother's handle) and other things if i decide to be rebellious. . . . . . .

and how are you supposed to not listen to someone coming in your room at six in the morning and turning off your fan and turning on ur light? even if i don't go wash the dishes i'm awake. T-T (i'm SO SO TIRED)

Yeah mines would have had an "accident" by now if they were like that "Really ? officer ! Someone cut there break lines :O who would do such a thing" *fake tears*

I am sorry about all that you have been going through... have you tried earning their respect?... sometimes, that's the only way out..... try thinking of it this way.... you will be ministering to your parents, so whatever you or they do, remember not to expect anything from them but give them more than tbhey expect you to..
and the funny thing is that God commands us to obey our parents, so talk to God about it. I am sure He has a reason for giving you your parents and yet commanding you to obey.. :-)
and it's good to remember 1 Corinthians 13.. loove keeps no record of wrongs.....it is hard I am sure .but you can definately do it.. it is possible

Yeah my parents drove me insane to the point where I had to leave. Save money and get a place of your own or a roommate... actually a roommate is the way to go. A lot cheaper.

Ive had such bad luck with room mates.. so has my sis. Never again will I do it lol.

My mother turned into a trigger/stressor for me so I just started spending less and less nights at my parents, til I eventually moved out.

I guess I got lucky as far as roommates go lol. My friends and I were hanging out all the time, to the point where I kept crashing at their place and finally when my parents really started to drive me crazy (hasselling me ever 2 seconds to get a job, turning the internet off at midnight, yelling at me for being at home too much only to come back an hour later and yell at me for not being home enough, etc...) I was finally like, "So how would you guys like a fourth person to help pay rent?" lol. There's been ups and downs, but they're a fun bunch and they're more or less my family at this point.

You have options: Approach it from a very objective point of view and outline the situation clearly to them. The key is communicating your side of the story without overlooking that you're parents want something in return for all the investment they put into raising you in the first place.

It sounds like they want you to move out. Have you ever seen that movie "Failure to Launch" with Sara Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey? He was nearly 40 and still living at home and they did all they could to get him out the house.

I think you should talk to them about why things are changing. I know some people are saying move out but I think it best to stay ALAP (as long as possible)
After I finished college I moved back home for about a year cause thats all i could take, but during that time I saved so much money It helped me start off very well on my own. I was in a good position to pay cash for a vehicle and find a place and buy decent furniture unlike the typical thrift store futon. staying with parents also helps keep some innocence. You dont have as much freedom so you dont have the temptation to do things you probably shouldnt do being young and on your own. Like throwing wild parties and having opposites genders over after hours.

This does sound like a pretty controling environment. :(

Sure, it is their house, and I do not blame them for having some rules etc...that part seems fair.....but the lack of communication and inflexability and inconsistancy is not fair.

I would A: offer to pay some rent so that you are then a tenant and have some of your *rights* back. Or B: do what others here have said and save money like crazy for the next 4 months or so and try to move out. (even if it is a studio apartment at first......you can upgrade later.)

paying rent while i'm here sounds like a good idea. ^_^.

i'm just worried that paying rent ISN'T going to change a thing. they're used to the way things are. its going to take hours of sitting down and talking things out. . . . . .but it seems like a nice idea. ^_^

its going to take hours of sitting down and talking things out. . . .
Well worth it. I would even go as far as to say that if you have a hard time doing it to pray about it and have others pray about it. Best of blessings :) I believe in blessings not luck. God doesn't make mistakes. :)
