Welcome to Christian Chat, Carol. I think addictions are rather common. We just have to keep resisting temptation.

Hi Carol. Perhaps I can give you some answers, I was an addict for many years including alcohol, prescription drugs, cocane/crack and anything else I could get my hands on. Recovery is possible, I will be celebrating 5 years of freedom from addiction next month. I might be able to help you.
