Sometimes I wonder if I was born at the wrong time, do you ever feel that way? As if my interests and personality just cannot fit with anyone. I am always told "there is someone for everyone" but sometimes the search just seems to go on and on.... Are you in the same boat?

Honestly, I think since there are so many choices in today's western society, people (both male and female) become far too picky for their own good. Yes, you should have high standards for a future mate, BUT...those standards should be realistic and biblical, not a product of all your own wants and needs. I've known people in great relationships who ruin and abandon those relationships BECAUSE THERE MIGHT BE SOMEONE EVEN BETTER! And you don't want to miss out on something even better, right? Problem is, nobody is perfect, and nobody will fullfill ALL of the things you're looking for. By the time people figure this out (some never do), they're much more realistic about things and willing to put some work into a relationship between two IMPERFECT people. Problem is...this takes much longer, and people get married later and later (or divorced), if at all. Not to mention all the unnecessary heartache involved.

I suppose thats my thoughts on the whole "needle in a haystack" belief. All things are ordained by God, and yeah, I think He has someone for everyone...but all too often I think single people might pass that "someone" up. They're looking for what THEY think is their ideal, not what God has picked and setup for them.

End of rant.
