Hi Peeps
Ive noticed here on a few different topics, on suffering. Im hoping I can explain a little bit of my own story briefly, to help others. I know Im not a great writer, so bear with me.

How many of you have seen that small shy child, hiding behind Mom or Dad? You know the type, that take a few minutes before they open up? I was that type LOL. In fact, one of my nicknames was "smilie" I was always smiling once I was relaxed with strangers. I look back at my childhood, and I see how I was every parents dream. BIG brown eyes. Dimples. Always smiling and polite. Tons of manners. Loved people like crazy. I was told and remember, I was the type of child a parent could only wish for. For this story-like, thing, I will also change some names, since I have forgiven those mentioned.

--------------------------------------------------------

My Dad built our house in a small town. 3 floors, swimming pool, jacuzzi. The works. He was a Master plumber, and worked REAL hard for what we had. But everything wasnt so perfect. When I was 4, my Mother left my Dad. When I woke up one morning, she was gone. Now here is the woman who was my BEST friend. We did everything, and I mean everything together. And now, she wasnt there when I woke up. Instead, was my Grandmother. Yes, I loved seeing her LOL, dont get me wrong. But yes, I had to ask where my Mom was. I cant actually remember the exact words, but It was always a made up line.

Every hour was spent looking out the window. Days on end, I did this. No phone call, nothing. By the time my Dad got home from work, I was already in bed. But this went on for 2 weeks. Constant crying on the kitchen floor, not knowing where my best friend went. She had eventually pulled up after 2 weeks, and I was all excited LOL. I finally had her. I thought we could go in the backyard and play on the swing set. But, this didnt happen. Instead, she went to her room, to collect some clothes.

This was a major kick. I will NEVER forget that day (In fact I remember when I was a baby in the crib, but cant remember yesterday LOL. Still forget the trash :P ) She had packed up her suitcase, and I kept asking where she was going. Over and over. And I remember my Grandmother, grabbing her wrist saying, "Carol Ann,you cant just walk out , and NOT talk to him" So she did stop, and explained that her and Daddy wernt getting along scene. Didnt get it, but what 4 year old does?

She proceeded to the door, with me WAILING. Im talking decibels LOL. I was flipping out. She had gotten into the car, only to drive away. I remember just loosing it and starting chasing the car. Dont ask why, I dont know LOL. But I have never seen an ol' woman run. My grandmother scooped me, from our busy main road. I ran right in the line of traffic. Talk about your nut kid :P But yes, I lost it uncontrollably. I remember the closeness I had with her.

----------------------------------------

Somethings have to come to an end. And my Grandmothers time was up. She needed to go back to her home. So my Dad had to hire a maid or something. THIS people, is the move that altered my life. My Dad had hired "Becky." In the beginning she was cool. Really awesome to us. I had an older brother Matt, and younger brother "Jeff" We thought Becky was just the greatest. But I still missed my Mother. Becky wasnt the replacement. No grown up, no matter how great, is a replacement to a 4-5 year old. Especially a Mother. Well, eventually over a year, Becky and my Dad, got together. And yes, they got married. My Grandfather, who is now my Dads, ex-father in law, had pleaded several times, to not have this woman around his Grandkids. He argues several times over this. But it was too late. And they also had a new baby on the way.

---------------------------------------

Just before my new little brother was born, Becky had brought us 3 little ones into the hallway. It went something like this:

Becky: Are you guys excited a new baby is coming?"
All 3: Ya
Becky: Well, you do know, that you 3 have to start calling me Mom now, right?
Me: Why?
Becky: Well you dont want the baby to call me Becky do you? It will be very confusing.
Me: But I have a Mom
Becky: DAVID, JUST DO IT!!!!! (this was the first time she ever raised her voice to us)

Over several weeks, it took some practice. A few slaps here and there, but I finally got it. I have to give it too Becky, she didnt turn evil on us over night. This took a little time. Problem here, is she just got 3 young kids who dont understand, and a new baby. BAD mix. But at this same time, my real Mom was able to pick us 3 up on Fridays, for the weekends. So there may of been a possibility of things working out. Ahhhhh prob not.

Becky, used to get upset us 3 would talk about our Mom, and when we ran to see her, would get jealous. But let me explain Becky. She was from a broken family, who were major alcoholics, and would abuse her. To make things worse, she joined a notorious biker gang. And let me tell ya, this woman was strong. Even adults feared her. Including my Mother. To have her near little kids was just ASKING for trouble. This is what my Grandfather was warning my Dad about. My Grandfather was a cop for a tunnel, and had her background checked. I wish I knew that as a kid.

---------------------------------------------------------------
* Im not going to get in full detail or ALL the stories. Im getting tired typing, and this is a Christian site.

Over time, Becky just had a short fuse, and nothing made her happy. In fact, hitting was more violent, and she used certain tactics, to inflict pain. When I was younger, my Mother used to blast the huge radio to clean the house. Nothing like "Chicago" on volume 10 LOL. I loved it!! Hence the reason I play guitar. Doing this did come at a cost. My hearing. In this pre-school like program, a teacher had noticed I was hearing her. They had it checked out to find out my ear drums were blown. After some surgery and healing I had some hearing come back. But Becky changed this. She used to open hand slap my ears. She had caused my ears to bleed several times. And she knew it.

I dont think it was so much the pain she used. It was more the words. I have never heard a more evil mouth come off something satanic, never mind a human. Everytime this woman spoke, my self-esteem was lowered worse and worse. I started to get an attitude. And a bad one. Could not understand how I could make this woman happy. Nothing ever did.

Now because of my loosing my temper, I now started sucking my thumb, and wetting the bed. It was almost nightly, my brother Jeff and I wet the bed. Couldnt figure for the life of us why, we were doing this. But I will tell ya, Becky did NOT approve of this. And she was going to see to it, that we knew it. Beatings were excessive. Name calling started. And Im talking nasty grown up type. We were woken up in the morning for school, being choked by our bed sheets. Faces were punched in, (even with that dumb ring) Hair pulled and kicked us to the floor to a Bolivian end. We got our butts wooped as if we were adults, by a biker chick. And she would be WAILING SCREAMING!!Never turned out nice. It could almost look like an episode of Cops. Beyond words.

So we did what most kids do when they are in fear. We started to hide the wet sheets. I really wish we thought that out better. The beating were 2X worse now. it got so bad, that one day, she made me go to school in diapers. Second grade, Mrs Boncore. Will never forget the day. I sat ALL day without moving once. I mean, after all, a plastic diaper makes noise. Didnt want the other kids hearing it. I was humiliated in front of ALL the kids. Worse day. I didnt even go out to play. I just sat in class. Then at one point, dont know why or how, but I got called out of class, an hour before the day was over. It was Becky. The only time I had EVER heard her be sincere. Or at least its sounded it. My Dad could of threatened her. She said in the nicest voice ever "David, I am soooo sorry" "I forgot to tell you to take it off before you left" "It was only to scare you"

Now I dont know if she meant it or what. But the damage was done. Even if I got an ice-cream. Didnt know what to make of it. As we grew a little, Becky never got better. Beating were worse. Names got dirtier. My Dad worked so much, he never knew. And when he did, words got twisted to were us 2 kids were liars. My older brother kinda got along with Becky. At this point, he had given up on our real Mother. Made Becky his new Mom. Jeff and though, new better, and would avoid Becky at ALL costs. She went upstairs, we went down stairs. She went in the backyard, we went inside. It was really an hourly ordeal. To live in fear hour by hour.
---------------------------------------------------

Most of the childhood was doing EVERY chore, having no friends, and living scared. That was it. At this point I needed something. My Dad used to make us go to church every Sunday. So Ive thought, it was time to ask for help. I quietly at first started praying to God. It was lame at first LOL.

"Hi God, its me David""Can you hear me?""Im scared, and I dont know what to do"

I mean, here I am now, this little 8 year old, just decided to talk to God. After some practice, I almost started having actual conversations to God. I would be doing laundry, and spark up a conversation with the Lord.

"Hey God, its me again, do you remember last week, when,,,,," what ever I would talk about. LOL

"God I hate to bother you, I know your busy but,,,,"

This was the start of my faith. And I always felt good. Of course I would have major several times, I would be in tears asking him for help. Didnt care what, but I needed it. I always thought Becky hated us for existing. Whole family (except my Dad cause of work) would go on vacations and trips, and Jeff and I would be left behind to do chores. So much has happened, we had no purpose anymore. Also at this point I now had a sister. There is 5 of us. And Jeff and I started to LOOSE IT. Even though God was in my life, we couldnt take it anymore.

Part 2:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
"THE MORAL SIN"

"Jeff, what if we were to build it this way?"
"We could but where are we going to get the supplies"
"Dads work bench" "I will steal it late tonight"
"But you will get caught"
"Dont worry about it" "I will keep quiet"
"No David"
"I will be ok"
"David, Dad will get mad if he caches you NO!!!"
"Jeff its ok." "Once we make this, and Becky is Dead, we will never have to be afraid anymore"

Yup, you read that right. We were now at a point, where we were going to murder this woman. Two little kids that ALWAYS smile, and think of people and the world as gold, was now plotting murder. I think Im 9 now, and Jeff is 7. I mean really?!?! Amazing. No child should EVER be at a point of committing murder. And two kids who go to church every Sunday etc. Just an all out sin. Really, I do understand how someone who would NEVER do such a thing, could do such acts. We all have a melting point. We had finally gotten ours, and it was long over due.

Well, not that exact night, but the one after, I had gone down into the basement and grabbed everything we drew out, and left it behind a safe place. I would build it the next day. When I went up stairs to go to bed, I heard my Dad on the phone. It was on the opposite side of the bed. He then sat down, talked, hung up, and rolled over the bed to his side. My eyes GREW!!

"Jeff you awake?"
"Ya"
"We cant do it'
"Why?"
"Cause if Dad rolls over, he is going to land in it"
"Ohhhhh"

What my brother and were planning, was to take a piece of plywood, hammer a mess load of nails in it. Then we were to cut up the mattress on Beckys side, the same size as the plywood, place the sheet over it, and when she would go to bed, she would land in the bed of nails. Thats how we were going to do it. Thats how we planned to kill her. But God told us, NO, and showed me. God is very good at what he does. In fact, he had other things in mind for me.

---------------------------------------------------------

Gods Plan for Me

You know, at the time, I really didnt noticed something about myself, that I can see a photo of now, and see it. God made me a very handsome kid. If I wasnt so uptight and lost half the time, I would of noticed 2/3 of the girls in my class looking at me. They used to love the long eye lashes LOL. I re-hooked up with an old friend of mine not that long ago, and we dated for a bit (She is the song I wrote called "Elizabeth" )(Check it out on my YouTube) . She let me know, that almost ALL the girls had that crush thing for me growing up LMAO :P Oh well. But it didnt just end there.

Gods most POWERFUL gift, was going to be given me within time. Well, actually he gave to me sooner, just never knew. The power and gift of kids. No no, not childbirth LOL. The fact, there isnt even to this DATE, that a single child hates me. Ive have ALWAYS been a kid magnet. Even the most suborn crankiest baby will stop crying once I hold him/her. Yup. Still find it soooo cool LOL. I would be walking across the street somewhere, and get stared at by kids. Even 30 years later. For awhile I thought I was crazy, but now I have 6 witnesses to it. No one has a rhyme or reason for it. You would think I was the President or something. And they always want to talk to me. At one point, at the age of 17, I was volunteering to a program through school, and I had to move. It took me an hour to leave the building. 60-ish kids wouldnt let go of me. Never seen so many tears. Gods gift :)

But anyway, didnt know this right away. Back at the age of 12. For a couple of years, I was stuck baby sitting my Sister, Brother, and their friends. They would be swimming in the pool etc. But there was one, who stood out. His name is 'Derek" He was 8. I was on his older brothers baseball team (because we have the SAME name, I have to use it) David was his name too. Davids little brother was best friends with my little brother. And every time I had seen Derek (who looked a little like me) would smile and show his BIG brown eyes too. At the time, I couldnt stand him (Hey, I had my own issues, and kids wernt on the list) I used to think Derek was a nut HAHHAHA.

This is ALSO the same summer, I was grounded the entire school summer vacation. Three months at that time, not like now. I was to write, I think 10,000 X both sides of the notebook, "I will not,,,," I think it was the time, I forged Beckys signature on some homework thing, not 100% sure. But the whole 3 months, 90-100 degree summer with no break in my room. Only time I could leave was to eat, and go to the bathroom. It was the summer as a 12 year old I went to jail, was how I saw it. The punishment didnt fit the crime. I passed out several times to heat stroke.

After my time was done in Becky Jail, I was released 2 weeks before school started. Even though I was out of my room, in a way I was still punished. I had asked to go over a friends house, and like normally, the answer was no like the million times prior. Does this woman have 1 iota of a heart cell? I guess not.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Gift

Just being told no, was too much. I had no reason any longer to live. Nothing was worth it, and all I wanted was God. As minor as this seems not being able to go out, you also have to understand years of serious child abuse, the fear, the attempted murder, the jail. Just couldnt do it anymore. I snapped finally. No one loved me enough to endure this any further. Was time to say goodbye. 12 years old in a quiet town, were everyone knew everyone, no crime, yup, I had enough. And I remember right after Becky left to go to work as I had to babysit, I went up to the bathroom upstairs.

"God, I cant do this anymore." "I have done nothing but love people, and I just cant get enough back" "I want to be with you" (or something close to this. This one Im not 100% sure, cause I was major lightheaded and finally all done)

I had searched the medicine cabinet, and emptied EVERY pill it had. Sadly this was an expensive house. We didnt just have medicine cabinets, we had the "Ultimate Drug" dispenser. Took half the wall with 2 sinks. I started simple, and went for the aspirin. 1, 2, 3, and I was on a roll. A big knock at the door. It was my brother.

"Dad is going to be home in 30 minutes and needs help with the groceries"

Im thinking, "WHAT?" This is not enough time. No time to finish it all. No time to keel over, and he is going to see it, and rescue me. NOOOOO!!!!!!! Damn it I was so close!!!

I at this point crashed to the ground and cried uncontrollably. It was definitely a scene. Blacked out momentarily over the anguish. This was all just TOO much, and didnt have any answers. Why, and how come. What did my life need to be so messed up for. I didnt ask for this. All I wanted at the point was God. I was tranquilized by the thought of having to put up with the abuse forever. No answer. Or was there.

After quickly getting myself together, and trying my best to put ALL the pills back, I managed to hurry up and go to the backyard. Now that Im NOT having a headache, I sit on the pool lounge chair. Derek is sitting in the other close by with the pool towel on. Here is the moment where everything spun, and God did his work. This is a part in my life that has dictated I have done hereafter within my life.

Derek all smilie: "Hi"
David fuming in anger: "What"
Derek: "Im just saying hi"
David: "Good for you"
Derek: "Whats the matter?"
David: "Nothing"
Derek: "No really what?"
David: "None of your business and you wouldnt know any better. Your just a dumb kid"
Derek: "Hey, thats not nice",,,,,,,,"Really, whats the matter."
David: "If you have to know, I just tried to kill myself, cause I dont want to live any longer, wold hate me, I HATE MY LIFE, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!!!"

Derek: "Why?" "Why would you do something that stupid?" "You cant just kill yourself." "I need you" "Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard of (Dereks waterworks) "I wouldnt want to come by here anymore if you were gone" "I have two brother Davids,,my brother and your the other one?" (Derek leans over and hugs me) "Please dont hurt yourself" "If anyone, I LOVE YOU"

At this point, God slapped a bolt of electricity though me, cause I saw, the world go by fast (clouds in the sky were seriously moving fast) and I couldnt move. Not only that, but I had Derek holding me crying. I really was just numb. I think I held him right back after what seemed like an eternity. I even asked him to repeat what he said, and he did.

This was the point in my childhood God gave me something that gave me a reason. At THIS point, kids were no longer stupid, dumb or useless. They were now my hero, and given me a reason too smile again. I had to be the first 12 year old boy in history, that wanted to be a Dad. Nuts huh? But ya, that one moment was too powerful. God slapped me and put some stink on it HAHAHAHHA.

I honestly think this is what God had said to me that day from the bottom of my heart:

"David, I think you have suffered enough. You have a big heart and you have to much work too be done. Not enough people to do good to others. You will be with me again, someday. But not right now. I will give you a gift, but only for a limited time. I will give you the gift of being able to talk to kids and help them. They are my most prized possession. I give them to you too watch out and do good by them. When they get older and go on their ways, they will forget you. When your time is done, you will then be with me. Love ~ God.

Too this day, no child that I have dealt with remembers me. This is strange, but I cant seem to get ONE to remember me at all LOL. I have some of them as friends on Facebook now as grown ups, and even though I describe their families etc, they just cant remember me at all. Not one. Cant tell me that isnt something God has done no? I still believe this is the Gift. We still laugh, and be friends on Facebook, but thats it. Not even John Paul, who told his cousin to find his own friend, David was his HAHHAHA. It was a funny moment. Man did they fight LOL.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

There is more, but we will stop here. I might do the Adult part of me sometime. I can do this for hours LOL.

I am going to say one thing. Only cause I cant disrespect him. The boy 'Derek" in the story? His real name is Michael Cellucci from Winthrop Massachusetts USA. Sadly to this story and more pain to my heart Michael died of cancer at the age of 14. He was such a good kid and well loved, the Winthrop Middle school has dedicated a permanent Memorial in his honor for trying to battle it for 3 years. You can visit this yourself if you are ever in that town. Michael, will always be my Hero!!!

what a powerful story.
cried when you were praying to God and getting used to it, and also when Derek hugged you.

too long though...almost like a book.

thank you

wow! wonderful testimony. God bless u.
and they over came him by the blood of the Lamp, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.(Revelation 12vs11) :)

Thank you for sharing your testimony :) . It is AMAZING how powerful 3 words can be...."I love you". It can change lives, literally.

I'm so sorry you had such a rough childhood. I do not understand how adults can hurt children; it really must be demon-possession :(

Wow, I am so sorry that you had to endure all of that as a child. :(

I am glad that you overcame it and gained a wonderful relationship with the Lord! :)

Such a powerful story! God bless!
