Jesus tells us to love each other. Is he referring to how we FEEL about each other, or how we TREAT each other?

The same question could be asked about pride. Jesus said pride is a sin. Is he referring to what we are THINKING, or how we TREAT each other?

I might suggest in both cases he is referring to how we treat each other.

According to John 3:16, love is sacrifice, which is giving of onesself
for the needs of another, even an enemy; therefore, i would say
love is an act we perform based upon our compassion of others.

I like this quote:

'It is inadequate to think that the verb 'to love' means something narrowly volitional, such as 'to seek the other's good regardless of your affection or non-affection.', as if Christian love can be reduced to committed altruism. The commandment to love cannot be stripped of affective content.'

D.A. Carson, 'Love In Hard Places' (referring to 1 Corinthians 13)

[19] Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
[20] No, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head." Romans 12:19-20 RSV

I agree that if you dont consider a persons feelings your just not being considerate at all..therefore no love is there.
