It should be against the rules to ridicule lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people.

I have seen horrible things be said about gays on this forum. Things such as:
- "Homosexuals have rejected God's design for their own lives and humanity and are in rebellion to it."

- "The false God of sodomites is the Antichrist himself ! "

- "Its just militant homosexuals actively continuing the campaign to destroy ..."

- "There is no such thing as a gay person. There are people who practice homosexuality."

- "The homosexual agenda is a strong one, but perverts usually are serious about their addictions."

- "The problem here is that homosexuals come to CC and malign scripture to justify their sin rather than repenting from their sin and admitting they struggle with a sex sin issue in their life."

- "If you are banned from this discussion, it would be for maligning God's Word to support your false assertion that homosexuality is God's design for humanity. This is a Christian forum not a homosexual one. We are not deceived as you are on this point."

- "The sodomite mafia are a ruthless bloodthirsty plague ..."

You guys may not realize it, but when things are said such as this, is seriously hurts us to the bone.

We have already had family members reject is, not accept us, make our life hell for us, kicked us out of our houses, disowned us... Can't we just have some sort of safe refuge here on CC where we can be loved unconditionally?
 
I agree with you toast. My goodness you're so young. Prayers are with you. :)

You are indeed loved. By Christians as well as God. How unloving would it be to tell you homosexual behavior wasn't sinful in need of confession and repentance? If every person here and everywhere, told you homosexuality was fine, and the message of confession and repentance of the SIN was never told, and your eternal salvation was forfeited because of it, would we actually be hating you?

But on here, many assume that gays as a group are all people who have sex with men, when in reality, there's many who don't. There's even some gays who reconcile their sexuality and their faith by being celibate for life.
 
I think it's very commendable to be celibate if someone has homosexual desires or an unmarried heterosexual with sexual desires. I have struggled with lust for many yrs. The problem comes in when we try and claim that clearly defined Biblical sin is not called sin and not confessed as sin and repented of.

Exactly.

But you must remember that there are also gay Christians who believe that God wishes for them to find love, enter a relationship. I am one of these people myself. Remember that we didn't just want to excuse our sin. Many of us, me included, sought out God's view on it all through prayer and His Word. As we prayed to The Lord that we may have the Spirit guide us into the truth, we decided to see if there were any way to reinterpret the 7 passages used to oppose homosexuality, and we found a different interpretation than most of our siblings in Christ. Such as Sodom. We noticed how it was never actual consensual gay people having sex, but... Mostly straight men threatening to gang rape Lot and the angels. If a bunch of men were threatening to rape you as a sign of power and inwelcomeness, you wouldn't assumed they were gay men hitting on you! Things like this are seen in prison. And then there's the mystical arsenokoitai of 1 Corinthians 6:9...

Anyways, the point is, we all need to be accepting of each other even through our differences. I used to use GayChristian.net and there were people who believed they had to celibate because gay relationships were sinful and another group who thought God approved of it. And yet they lived in peace and tolerance with each other! I hope we can start to see this here on CC.

I agree with what you are saying about how we should be treating each other but I don't think making rules about how CC talks about homosexuality is a good idea. Everyone should be aloud to voice there opinion whether it is right or wrong.
Those who are voicing there opinion should be more careful with what they are saying but you can't ban everything that is hurtful and upsetting to some people.
Also making more rules doesn't change people mindsets or ideas it just makes them angry and rebellious.

It shouldn't be okay to call us "wicked sodomites"

At the very least they should call for more acceptance and nicer language towards us

I agree with you, they should act more respectful to all of the children of God, but the moderates can't make people accept things they don't wont to accept.
My advice is to just ignore the threads (I have been doing this for the past month). Arguing with people who don't want to change will be a waste of your time. They have chosen their path and you have chosen yours, on judgment day we will find out what was the right path, but until then we may never know.

Yeah.

It's my dream that I can walk into an evangelical place and be out of the closet, whether CC or my home church.
