Please pray for me.

I'm legally married...

I married my husband legally as a backsliden born again Christian and he married me as a backsliden Catholic. I recently came back to God and he came back to his Catholicism.

I'm now forced to sleep in our guest room, as in the eyes of his Catholic faith, our marriage is not acknowledged unless done in the Catholic church. So, since it's not acknowledged in his faith, we are apparently living in sin! (Ridiculous)... and therefore, we should not be in the same room as each other.

I will not remarry him in a Catholic church. I cannot do that.

I will not divorce him and it's a sin to divorce anyway.

He believes we are living in sin by being in the same room together. However, God says he is sinning as he is supposed to honor his wife (me) and he is not.

Disaster.

:( :( :(

Does he know the story of the women at the well, Jesus acknowledged all her marriages.
I think you should go to the catholic church yourself to talk to the priest. He might be confused,
or just trying to get you to convert. I will be praying that God will answer you both with His wisdom.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, – Philippians 1:9-10

In His Service and His Name Amen

Thanks for pointing to that scripture. Will share it with him.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it :)

Katy-Follower first I'd like to encourage you in your renewed faith. I am excited that your husband is developing a renewed sensitivity to the Lord too. Can I suggest a few things?
1. Focus on God and developing your relationship with him.
2. Focus on loving him (your husband) and being the wife God has called you to be.
3. Study up on what Catholics believe. Keep in mind he has been "taught" a lot of stuff since childhood.
4. Know what you believe and why.

Be patient. Love one another. Start asking God to draw you together. I will be praying for you both. Something beautiful will come out of this.

Does he accept any spiritual authority over himself? Maybe good to look down that path. .. ' wish you well. S4

Praying for all you ask in Jesus Christ is Lord.
Because in Jesus, you are married.

God bless.

Thanks for your advice. I've been trying to do that since May, but it's proving more difficult these days, as everything is just falling apart. I know that this legal marriage was probably part of God's plan - as the way I look at it, it happened in the past but it also prevents me from being forced into a Catholic marriage. But, that still doesn't stop my husband from now fighting against it.... separate rooms.

Since coming back to God last May I've been doing a lot of research on Catholicism - more so than I ever have and it's quite worrying. They definitely worship a different Jesus and are part of a "system" (sorry if I offend any Catholics).

I'm hoping things get brighter :(

He's almost going through some crisis of faith, as what the Catholic church teaches and expects is one thing, but he comes out with some answers that do not agree to the catholic church, yet he takes part and abides by their rules and regulations. You either do one or the other, not both.

His priest told him we have to be in separate rooms until we have an official Catholic wedding, but he is wrong. We're legally married and accepted in the eyes of God.

God does say in the bible that this is not right. he is not honoring his wife, he is honoring a religious system, which isn't of God, since they like to change the rules to fit with what they want.

God is pulling his left arm and Satan is pulling his right.

Thank you :)

Yes, i believe that too. God sees everything, he knows every single hair on our heads. He certainly acknowledges that we are married too.

I believe my husband will become a Christian at some point, otherwise we would not be together at all, is my belief. But it's difficult. This is pushing us apart.

Its never easy waiting upon the Lord, but it is always worth it.:)
Continueing to pray in Jesus.
Consider this, the fact that your husband is so upset in this, shows the commitment of heart to his faith,
now he simply needs Jesus as His commitment of faith. :)

Hugs and God bless.

Lord God soften the heart of Katy-Follower's husband. Let him meet your Son...Jesus. Holy Father you love both of these children...you know that they both are seeking you. Jesus we ask you for a supernatural act of mercy, a personal experience for both of them so they will both know they are treasured, married and belong to you. Jesus give wisdom, discretion, patience and most of all your willingness to wait for your timing. Jesus send godly counselors for this woman of God. So that she doesn't hear what she wants to hear but hears what you are saying to her. Lord I ask you to change her heart, her actions, and her mindset to one of a servant, wife and slave of Christ Jesus. Jesus grant her your ability to wait for God's timing. Let her claim your promise in Jeremiah 29:11. Amen
